When disassembling the Rotofury, the priming bar goes through the center of the cylinder and is thicker at both ends than the part that goes inside the cylinder. I am wondering if there is a way to somehow take apart this bar so that you can have just the cylinder without breaking it.

Not without breaking the solvent weld.Just about everything you need to do to a roto you can do without doing anything to the priming bar.

That would be as simple as dipping it into boiling water for a few seconds at a time, right? And I assume the solvent welded piece is the piece that is often in the cylinder where the white and orange plastic meet? And the key word is just about, I am attempting to make a new cylinder, but I would need some way of getting the new cylinder on the priming bar.
