What was this piece used for and is it important?

It was underneath the Rampage's plunger tube.IMG_20160222_1609011.jpg

Looks like a lock, so prob not required. Throw it back together without it and test it. If it doesn't work, then I don't know.

if it was in front of the tube I think it was a lock but if it was next to the catch I belive it is the slam fire peice

It's not the slamfire mech, but other than that idk what it is. I'd guess it's a lock as well, from the shape, maybe the trigger lock?

It looks like a lock, prolly to prevent dryfiring

No such lock exists on the rampage. As long as the blaster performs the way you need it to without the piece, you should be fine.

It looks like a lock from the retaliator, i've never opened a rampage so this is just a guess, but it defiantly looks like a lock. try putting in a few screws so that it holds together and try firing it. if it doesn't work, than it's not a lock.

I believe it may be the lock that keeps the jam door closed while the priming handle is not in the back position

No, that's a little knob on the boltsled. This comes from under the plungertube.

GoldenCorn is correct. it's the jam door lock, for sure. I just put an E7-11 back together tonight, and I found it under the right-hand end of the bottom rail of the jam door.

Seems it keeps the jam door from flapping around when you've only got the bolt half-slid.
