Well it depends on what you do to them, (mod wise)?

We're less than 10 minutes from there.  I haven't been to that park before but maybe I'll stop by this weekend and check it out.  It looks like there is a bunch of open space along with some trees for cover.

I was thinking just a paint and OMW 8kg spring upgrade for the hammershot nothing crazy just basics. I'm not sure what to do t the stryfe I don't want to damage the shell in any way or run on LIPOs. Trustfires/Ultrafires and dummy batteries are cool though. That's why I choose Walkersville park, my church holds outdoor service there and the cover is there but not overwhelming. Plus there is bathrooms/water fountains and pavilions to have lunch at. Gamemode Ideas?

Well there's tons of types. I've got a whole rulebook with game types. Team elimination, hvZ, ctf, King of the hill, etc. I'd be cool with most game types.

park looks great for a location. As far as games go regardless of what you play a time limit for the game should be set. So one round dosent drag on for too long. 3-15 death match is a great warm up. Most are just objective based versions of 3-15. One thing to keep in mind is turn out. Dont plan a big game if your not sure enough people will show. Im really looking forward to this.

I'm only planning for a 3.5-4hr event. I was thinking a pistol only round for the warm-up, then a deathmatch and some objective games. Should we do the sock grenades? I'm aware that that is mostly played in H v Z though. I was thinking no barrel tap so people can't chicken out but still not sure... What dates are typically good beginning of summer, end... I can't host during school times because I'm busy. I can participate in them. Is a Nerf sword a good thing to bring?

A sword can be useful if you use it right. A pistol round could be fun. Beginning of summer would be better for me personally. Sock grenades are perfectly fine.

So while at work i was thinking. It seams like there is enough interest here to actually start a nerf club. Possibly do monthly or bi monthly wars. I know I would be down for that. I know a few others here in Pa that would almost definitely join in. I would be willing to host from time to time. Possibly clownie as well could host. I also thought of a possible name. Maison Dixon Nerf Club. Let me know what you think.

Some of thies things. Grenades, swords, im all for. But rules explaining how they work and restrictions should be put on them. Otherwise your gonna get that guy that just does grenades and takes everyone off the field in short time. Something like 2 grenades per side per game or similar to that.

So I've been reading over this and heres my thoughts. If your going to run a nerf war most, if not all of us are used to an all day event. If you so soomething like a 4hr play time you may loose people who have to drive a ways to get thier. You most likely will end up with a small turn out of locals with stock stuff because others don't want to make a long drive for no pay off.

If your going to run a war, pic a "amo class." SAMBO, stock, NIC.....make one your base and stick to it. During the say you can toss in other games that may make use of the other classes but, stick yo your base choice for the bulk of the day. It will help people with their load-out and keep them from haveing to drag a bunch if different darts and blasters to a field to play. Something as simple as haveing a MEGA round adds darts and blasters to your bag, more stuff to drag around and keep tabs on. It will also save you time between rounds if you don't have to have everyone constantly switching their grear all the time.

If you want to do swords, sheilds, sock-grenaids, you had better lay down the law on their rules of usage. Rockets breaking sheilds, counting for multiple hits (or insta-death), or "chopping dart" with swords complicates the play. One it the reasons its not used everware is because it can be a real pain in the ass. Tracking who shot or hit what with what amo.......players already don't take their hits as is. And thus adds another layer of complication, be absolutely clear on what the rules are. I've played with rockets, it can be real fun.

Set an age limit, 13 is were we start at (mostly). If their younger, tell them that thier parents need to stick around. For the duration of the day. If need be givem a blaster and a kick in the ass. You'd be surprised at how fast a parent is willing to play, especially if they get popp thier own kid. Make sure you make it clear, they play.....you stay. You are not a babby sitter and responsible for the kids safty. 4B's hert, little kids will cry and want to leave if they get pissy.

If you need help, i would be glad to silently co-host with you. You run the show, I'll just help if you need it.

Ces,

We also have blasters with the exact combinations you specified above. We have a trustfire Stryfe and a hammershot with the OMW spring. We can chronograph each for you if you want. Let me know. You can also do an upgraded 130 motor Stryfe that won't damage the shell.

I'm all in on this idea and was thinking the same thing. In fact, this is more important than the war. Once the club is established then the club could host the wars. The club would just be so darn helpful. My boys and I have done so many mods and it would have been super helpful to have a local club to get pointers. In contrast, we had to learn everything on our own. At this point, I'm sure we could help others and give back to the community ... Even small stuff like "Chronograph your blaster day: How fast is YOUR blaster?" ... Or ... "So you want a volt gauge in your flywheel blaster? A how to" ... Or ... "Trustfires vs LiPo - The real deal." Lololol.

Totally Agreed on the name and think it is perfect. So where do we go from here? Let's make the club happen and talk about the nerf war at the first club meeting. I could probably even spin up a website for us.

Yes it would be nice to have co-hosts or other people around to host from time to time. Bi-monthly would be nice but I can't host every time. Maybe at the start of summer right before school gets out so people haven't left for vacations we could do an annual longer event obviously not for the first year. A Nerf Club would be nice with a website and I might start a thread (What should it be categorized in?) Oh and WolfPlayer, you're a genius. We could do a trading events to or modding in groups where people bring their mods or they pay and we bring. The chrono on the blasters would be nice. Have you had problems with the stock motors burning out on the stryfe, and does the catch ever fail on the hammershot? I for one like the club name it's a cool one. I was asking about the swords and stuff because I wanted to know for in the future, but for now I'l keep it KISS (Keep It Stupid Simple).

Thanks!

Currently only half of the people in the group are using modified blasters. The mods that are used are rewired flywheels with imr batteries and a couple of Spring blasters with upgraded springs.

Well you'd definitely have the most modded weapon. We're all beginners in the group. Half of us don't even have blasters. I supply most of them.
