Does anyone know what size and style of motor the stampede has? I also need to know the type of switch is inside (I know it looks identical to the locks that are inside).

I recently purchased a stampede off ebay as working.... it's a completely unworking gut for rebuild gun.. if it's metal it's rusted, if it is metal and moves (including most springs) it's seized up (hence the motor and switch inquiry since they are unreadable)...

Gonna be a interesting project for sure since I intend to do a stockade integration along with select fire and a few other things.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The size of motor is 360. A 380 or 390 motor could also work since they are the same diameter, but I think they are longer so you may have to do some modification.

In particular, it is an RS360PH-3560. They were also used in orange-trigger swarmfires (the motor was downgraded for the blue-trigger ones). Or, you could try finding/buying a similar motor online.

The Zeus also has two 360-3160 motors if you are willing to buy and tear into one of those.

The switch shouldn't be anything that special, although placement is critical or else your blaster may not stop firing (although if you are adding select fire and whatnot maybe you will be controlling that in a much better way than the stock method?) Maybe try using one of the safety switches? It looks like it is a SPDT switch, though so make sure you use one of those I guess.

Thanks Jwasko for the info on the motor. The switch in question appears to be part of the reset mechanism to allow for full auto, so even with a select fire switch I'd likely need it.

Ahh it is a 360, thought so.

The plastic gears that do the retracting and gearing of the motor seem like they might not last if the motor gets sped up with a few extra volts, are there any upgrade gear sets etc available anywhere?

Or, could look at replacing the mechanism altogether with a stepper, or RC servo.

I'm keeping the gun, if it dispute it he might want it back, and right now it's in pieces in my work area.

The gears are actually still in good shape. The motor is shot, and so is the little switch under the gear catch piece (long white piece of plastic that seems to ride in the gears also.)

Once I get a new motor (couldn't find one on ebay or amazon) and get that segment working, I'm gonna rewire in 14ga wire rework the batter compartment to hold the arduino, and the actual batteries which will like be 9v batteries

I'll br cracking my Stampede open this week pending upgrade work. Got a full colour 1.5" OLED prepped for it already, so will see how that motor mechanism works.
