I do not recommend AMIORS nor Putty-wrapped darts. Putty-wrapped darts appear to have very poor aerodynamics, and AMIORS disintegrate easily in the heat. (It's bad enough that they get banned from wars as far as I know.) I haven't worked with Rubber Domes, so I don't know how good they are. The silicone darts are probably the best kind MHA makes, but they do seem to have somewhat limited durability/usage life. They perform better than many slugs though, but they require more work to make.
I recommend what the above post mentioned: ACC's and other "China darts" from eBay with a dome shape can be cut down and the results aren't too bad. Shop around eBay and look for those. The generic suction darts (generally referred to as USC's - Universal Suction Clones) are pretty good too; snip the suction cup and the foam, and they should fly at least as well as low quality slugs.
Also important is your geographical location with respect to how much wind there is. In places with more wind (i.e. not SoCal), slugs with #8 washers are recommended, but you need the right foam for them.

I disagree with the recommendation to make glue domes first, slugs, and then metal free last. Metal free darts, especially silicone domes, can make the hobby a decent amount more friendly, welcoming, and remove anxiety of problems occuring. Of course they all will fire out of Rainbow pumps and I hope you can enjoy the hobby with whatever darts you end up using.

Since when do Amiors have problems with heat? They're pretty much all we use anymore here in Houston. Or maybe I should just add this to the list of problems everyone else seems to encounter with Amiors that none of us here have ever seen. Seriously, I've heard almost nothing but bad things about Amiors since they came out, but they just don't give us trouble.

Yes, any of these ammo types will fire out of a Rainbowpump. If you want to make your own darts, there are many options. Silicone domes offer the best, and very consistent, performance, but they're more difficult to make than other types. You may have better luck buying the darts listed in the China Darts thread started by Cheerios and cutting them down.

My experience is that it's almost all moisture-based problems. I had no problems in dry weather, especially dry heat, but the moment there was a little bit of dew or anything, they just ruined everything.

In my experience barrel material is the most important factor in feeding darts
Yes the darts will fire out of a rainbow type blaster, it's more than powerful enough, but if a 0.52 DIA dart is fired through a 0.485 DIA barrel, you see how much force must be exerted to push that dart through? It's foam so it's squishy, but it can only squish so much.
The barrel setup for ESLT's that MHA silly domes are supposed to fire through is 0.485 DIA CPVC for three inches, then aluminum tube of a much greater DIA, I dont know the exact measurement but greater than 0.500.
Barrel material is the most important thing when takling about darts. I use CPVC barrels almost exclusively and I can tell you nothing but the thinnest of darts fire through it, and larger red or beige foam tends to jam it up, but the grey foam and cpvc is very economical even if it limits your dart feeding ability.

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: Yes, but really the rubber domes are the best by far. Cost (for new, completed darts) is the same as the ammo that nerf makes.
Other stuff:
-Putty wrap darts are super easy to make. Not usually good for hoppers (though some blasters will push them through fine), and definitely not great ammo aside from their ease and safety. They fly better than you would expect, but that's a low bar.
-AMIORS Relatively easy to make from kits that I don't even sell anymore. Some people have had problems with them, but IDK because I never had those problems either.
-"Rubber Domes" are basically the same thing as "Freehand Silicone Dome Darts", but an earlier, sort-of-obselete process.
edit- Also the aluminum barrels that we used supposedly had .527 ID, similar to a tight sch80.

What's so different about pumpbows?
If a dart will fire out of a hopper on another blaster with a similarly sized plunger tube, it should on a hoppered rainbow pump.
Same for RCSB's, BRiSC's, speed-loaders, and ball-valve-breeches.
"Rainbow" simply indicates the type of catch used.
"Pump" indicates the type of priming method.
