im going to doing voltage mods to a Stryfe and Rapidstrike. im looking at doing 2 or 3s lipo. only thing is how many amps do i need?

i done a stampede before that i used a 2200mAh 3s battery in, which had plenty of room. the Rapidstrike has plenty of room too. but the Stryfe is abit tight.

what sizes have people used?

The bigger the Ah the better. Go with whatever is the biggest that fits in the battery tray and you can afford. Anything over 1 Ah should be plenty, especially being Lipo chemistry. It will easily provide the necessary current to fire darts.

You'll want something rated ~25C continuous and 40C burst, especially if you upgrade the motors. That's the important thing (in other words, don't get a 5C battery meant for a transmitter).

I think the lowest capacity I've seen used was around 650mAh, but greater capacity will both let you shoot longer and let the motors draw even more current.

The 2s 25c 850mah zippy compact lipo fits with plenty of extra room in a stryfe battery tray that's been cleared.

Both the 25c and 35c 1000mah 3s zippy compact lipo will fit in a cleared out stryfe battery tray with a little bow to the door. The 25c does bow a little less as it is a bit thinner.

thanks for the input. looks like im heading to use an 1000-800mAh 2s mattering on which ends up fitting.

something i should said, i work at an RC shop and deal with lipos daily.
