Ok so the manufacturer called me back -said those samples were sitting in a box for a long time and they checked all of their shipments, ALL are PINK. I HAVE 2,500 ft of pink foam backer rod to sell and It shows up just as well as red outdoors. I realize people may've had their eyes set on red, but Pink is great as well. Im going to post pics of the foam momentarily but all who are interrested MUST Vote. If people dont vote, or vote 'no' to the extent I wont be able to sell enough of the rod to even out, then I will have to send it back for a refund.

Here's a comparison shot of the two colors.

We can sell what's on the left, and what's on the right is what we showed you before.

Mmm watermelon... I'm fine with the color, just name the price. Then I have to convince my 2 friends so that we can all order a large amount.

The Prices are as follows:

Length/ Price/ Per.ft
__________________
25 feet = 7.50 = .3
50 feet = 15.00 = .3
75 feet = 22 = .29
100 feet = 28.00 = .28
125 feet = 35.00 = .28
150 feet = 42.00 = .28
175 feet = 49.00 = .28
200 feet = 54.00 = .27
225 feet = 60.00 = .27
250 feet = 67.50 = .27
275 feet = 74.00 = .27
300 feet = 75.00 = .25
more than 300 feet = .25 cent per foot

This is hardly more than backer rod costs and your local store, and shipping should be quite minimal.

Eh, it's a bit more, but nothing that bugs me- FBR costs 12cents per foot at my ACE hardware.

I must stress the importance of having everyone who does want to purchase this rod saying so in the poll, because If I wont have enough orders to sell much of it Ill have to send it back and get my money back. Thank you.

I accidentally nulled my vote but that looks awesome. Pink is much better than red anyways, much more masculene. It's more visible and I don't really care that it's a slightly different color, it's still the colored backer rod we were excited about. Badass.

God, that stuff looks cool. With some gray/black/silver hot glue, it would be the coolest darts ever. And I mean ever.

I need to convience my parents to let me get some of this stuff; Maybe Bobert and I can split the price, and get a large amount.

Can't wait to see, and great jorb!

What are the prospects of getting some watermelon pink as well as going for the red?

I'm interested in colored fbr, and will take a decent quantity (~350') of either color. But I would be even more interested in getting some of each if it would work out.

So this leaves me with two questions; one for the sellers, and one for the prospective buyers:

1. Could you cut a deal with the manufacturers to get them to reduce the price on the watermelon batch (patch?), provided you'd get a batch of the red, that matched their sample?

2. Is there enough interest among the buyers for a quantity of both pink and red fbr?

Wow. Those are some pretty awesome prices. Dennis fbr cost about $4.50 for twenty feet. So if I bought five bags for a total of 100', it would come out to 22.50, plus tax. So the grand total would be about $25. So basically if I buy 100' of CS & SS's fbr, I'm going to pay let's say $33 with shipping included. And finally, I could make 600 two inch darts. I'll think this whole deal over, but I salute you for your prices.

We have to purchase the initial batch out of our pockets, so we can only go with one color for now.

Pink is all thats made, the samples i got were years old, and only pink is made to save on dyes I guess. Shipping wont cost more than a buck or two TOPS. Quite light weight.

it was kinda silly that they would send red samples when the product was more pinkeyred, but they arent really used to having anyone buy backer rod for color i assume :) , I think it will all workout very very nicely.

Pink is all thats made, the samples i got were years old, and . . .

If the samples are years old, could we get someone to confirm/deny as to whether the color is all that's different?

Does it appear to be the same size as the sample?
Does the watermelon fbr fit about the same in PETG as the sample?
How about 9/16 brass?

Just curious.

It is the same material- and as you know with FBR roles, the thickness varies slightly between beggining to end, but yes its the same stuff no worries. Its very pliable and can be stretched to fit your needs. Remeber when shot out of a gun this stuff expands to create a 'custom' type fit to whatever barrel it is being shot out of. :)
