Currently I am working on a halo project for my Halloween costume.
What I needed:
1 Flashlight about 2.5 inches long
1 Modified nerf rayven so the wiring does not go through the bottom of the handle
1 Barrel extension
Epoxy
1 Nerf Vortex Nitron Scope
Batteries

Tools:
Soldering Gun
Screw Driver
Some buckets to mix epoxy
Epoxy brushes and scalpels
Band Saw

Step 1
Unscrew the barrel extension and take out inside barrel.
Unscrew Rayven.
Step 2
Remove locks and move wiring to upper part of the handle.
Step 3
NOT REQUIRED
Modify battery pack to use 9 volts
Posted Image
Step 4(BAND SAW TIME!!!)
Cut out lower portion of blaster handle.
Posted Image
Step 5
Fill in holes!!!!! Using epoxy.
Step 6
Take the barrel that you took out of the barrel extension
Hotglue it in the blaster's front. Make sure not to use a lot of glue because it does melt the plastic in high quantities (I learned this the hard way). Do one pull of the hot glue gun trigger at a time and wait for it to dry in between.
Step 7
Put some epoxy onto the barrel in a cone shape where it connects to the gun. This will act as a barrel re-enforcement so it does not break or come off as easy. It still does break easy so if you are a serious nerfer you may not want to bring it to a war otherwise it will get destroyed!
Posted Image
Step 8
Attaching the Light is easy all you do is prop it up with clay so it is at the height of the barrel
Put epoxy on the barrel and attach it to the light.

Stay tuned for more steps as I have not made it farther than this.

Here is a Halo 4 DMR for reference.

I'd have used a Recon/Retal barrel extension for extra reinforcement.

Hey,very cool idea. Kind of reminds me of the BR I did some time ago. Sorry for the bunk photo, the blaster is in storage and this is the only one I have of it at the moment. And yes, you definitely want to use a Nitron scope. Keep up the good work, can't wait to see the finished product. (On the right)Posted Image

No, I don't have a post of it, not sure if it warrants a post in these forums, because, to answer you other question, no, it does not actually fire, you can pull the trigger and reload it, but that's about it for functionality. I had to cut out the battery tray to make the side of the BR flat, I suppose I could have relocated it, but that wasn't the goal of that build, it was more a cosmetic/prop project. I used parts and bits from a bunch of different blasters I had laying around in various states of disrepair and disassembly (not sure if that's a word, but I'm gonna go for it). It has a Longstrike stock and barrel, an Alpha Trooper barrel, Nitron scope, bits of poly-carb, and naturally a Rayven as a base. I scrounged around and did manage to come up with a few WIP pics, I have more, but this is about the gist of it, you can see the progress of the build, and I don't want to go too heavy with the photos, this is a bit of a thread jack as it is. Hope these help, and if you have any questions ask away, I've been modding and doing integrations for years, hell, you had to pump or prime your blaster before every shot. Back in my day flywheel blasters were considered a joke, and Buzz Bee was about the only manufacturer making those things. Now it seams, that's what it takes to be an "Elite" Nerfer apparently....SMH

Anywho... Here's those pics I promised.

The finished replica has a bit more paint work on it, the UNSC eagle on the stock and I did a faux ammo counter in green glow paint on the sight rail like in the game.

Cheers, and hope this doesn't catch too much flak, i.e.- thread jacking, non nerf related (sort of), and the classic "Who cares" stuff... I was a member of this forum years ago, and I know how it can sometimes get, a great forum with brilliant users, and w wealth of technical know how, just don't get out of line. Hope this is in there.

He probably could've moved the wiring so there is a battery pack in the long strike stock

Very true, for both of your statements, but as I said in my post, a functioning blaster was not the goal of this build. The problem that would have arisen if I were to relocate the battery tray would be a necessity of the shell being able to open. The problem with that, was the cosmetic mods I made. Many of them covered screw access and also the barrel and sight rail kind of hold the whole thing shut. Sure, it may have been possible to find a way to work around all that, but again, the point was to make a BR from the game that looked as close as feasible, was as clean as possible (no screw holes, mold lines, ext.), not to make a functioning blaster.
