Nerf magazines will not fit M4 pouches.
They will fit AK/7.62s doe.

double stack m4 (5.56) mag pouches without a divider hold ONE nerf mag snugly. ak (7.62) hold one nerf mag, so double stack ak should hold 2 nerf mags. The vest I linked above is a cheap good vest that a lot of my friends use and they work well, lot of straps and good quality and very cheap.

I personally use the MCR5 chest rig and can say it will in fact work fine for nerf mags. I run 6X12 round magazines. Sorry if this is a necro - just wanted to provide most up to date information
