
How Does The Modded Max Shot Stack Up?

Does the max shot when modded, get the same range as the sm5000?

It's within about 10' if you mod it right.
I get 108.7' level average from mine.

I, too, call it close.
My SM5k, even with it's slow leak, shoots consistently past my 100' marker in my driveway.
My son's Max Shot, with only a coupler and a 10" length of 1/2" SCH40 PVC, almost reaches the 100' marker. That's with NO modifications to the inside, and just a coupler and PVC stuck to the front of the gun.
Both were tested with slightly modified micro darts (yellow/purple tips).
They're both good, but when you consider that my SM5k was pretty extensively modified, and is finicky, and is finally showing signs of wear and tear, the MS is a pretty good deal.

From what I've gathered, it can't hold a candle to a SM5K with an expanded air tank.

From what I've gathered, an expanded airtank is a homemade.From what I've gathered, it can't hold a candle to a SM5K with an expanded air tank.

It's a cocking gun. I primes the same as a Mattel Maximizer, if that helps you any.I s the max shot a pump or cock gun?
