So a friend of mine bought a stryfe two years ago and with fresh batteries out of the box it hardly shot, he was upset but just kept it In a closet and I now own it.. I was wondering is there anything I could do to fix it? I am will ing to do most mods as long it's not too expensive and does not require shell cutting. Thanks!

If it doesn't work out of the box maybe you should try contacting NERF about it since it's probably a lemon. Once you open it up (the blaster) you forfit your chance of getting a free replacement or whatever.

Gut the electronics, drill a hole in the shell, and attach a crank to the gear. Bam, crank-action stampede that doesn't require batteries, or even a trigger.

...(also judging by your past posts, I would consider you pretty dang wise elder like in the modding community  )

I feel like having it laying around in a closet for two years with no proof of purchase forfeits your chance of replacement. Contact customer service and see, I could be wrong.

we need better details than it didn't fire...

such as it would jam up frequently or it had poor distances

if it is jamming up it is likely the dart lock in which case open it pull out the orange spring loaded thing it serves only one purpose to keep the trigger from being pulled without a dart pushing it up.

if it is just getting poor distances that is somewhat normal do a power supply mod and perhaps rewire that will fix that.

if the motors are either not working going to need to figure out why and while your at it either swap them for ones that work or rewire it and fix the break and while your at it remove the locks...

If by "it hardly shot" you mean it was jamming up or had poor ranges, I noticed the same with my stryfes, but when I upgraded the batteries to Ultrafires and removed the locks, it had fixed the problem.

Or hell, Spiderbite has sweet deals on this stuff now, so there's really no reason not to Rainbow.

[k26] springs!
