I'm new to the forum, but not new to forums in general. I have extensively searched google, this forum and a few other blaster-related sites. I have seen the color ranges from krylon and rustoleum in person, and none of them really match the Mega red color.

Has anyone find a good match? I don't really have a good model shop in my area so I haven't been able to browse some of the model paints in person.

Rustoleum has a bright red shade that, if my memory serves me, is very similar to the "mega" red. It is hard to find though. Normally stores only have the "Red Pepper" color amd it's a lot darker. I don't remember what it's called, maybe "cherry?"

Also, may I ask why you want this color in the first place? Most people paint tjeir blasters anything but stock colors so my curiosity is peaked :)

Good luck! And welcome to Nerfhaven.

Gut the electronics, drill a hole in the shell, and attach a crank to the gear. Bam, crank-action stampede that doesn't require batteries, or even a trigger.

...(also judging by your past posts, I would consider you pretty dang wise elder like in the modding community  )

I tried "Sunrise red" and "Regal Red" and they were a little off. I may just give up and go with the closest one.

As to why I wanted to match the stock color, I just integrated a cycloneshock into my rapidstrike. The rapidstrike was already vinyl dyed a gray/white/black scheme. I really like the stock paint job on the cycloneshock and wanted to paint a few of the white areas of my rapidstrike red, to help them blend together.

Gotcha. Well maybe you could prime and repaint the cycloneshock the same red and gray as the rapdstrike. Its really not weird tor paint a red blaster a different shade of red. I just got done painting all of the orange parts of my stampede a brighter, fluorescent shade of orange.
