How far would any of you be willing to drive for a Nerf War?

I live in a state with no Nerf action so to speak. That Mayhem war would be pretty close but it looks like it won't be happening anymore.

I'm in the same boat, no one around. Closest action involves driving 5 hours for an HvZ event in April.

I'm planning on a four-hour round-trip in March, and that's about as far as I'm willing to drive

I tend to drive about 2-2.5 hrs each way to most wars where I am right now. I had friends that came to apoc last year and drove 4 hrs to get to me then I drove to the war.

You should try to organize a war by you. There are a good group of guys from every scene that will drive a distance to play you just need to show dedication to get them to show up.

Y'all need to widen your horizons.

Armageddon in June of 2014.

Seattle war in August of 2014.

Also, there were a contingent of gentlemen from the Seattle group who drove down to 'Geddon.

The longest I've driven solo for a Nerf war was 7 hours to DC (for water wars, 12 hours to NC). My solo driving tolerance is around 14-15 hours. However, my range is severely limited by budget and car condition, so I typically carpool when possible.

If you live in a region with good public transit options, you don't necessarily have to drive, or you could use them to extend your range. If your state or a state along the way has a park & ride program, you can park in those lots for free, including overnight, and make a rail or carpool connection. One of the stranger trips I took was without a car from eastern CT to northern NJ that involved a taxi from school to the New London Station, Amtrak to New Haven, Metro-North to Grand Central with a local to express transfer in Stamford because I was dumb, walk to Penn, NJ Transit to Secaucus, NEC transfer to New Brunswick, and a ride from there to the war. It all comes down to how much you really want to play and how open-minded you are.

There used to be nerfers in Cinci, OH, and that's only about 2.5 hours away from both of you so you may want to check that out. Alternative: Build it Host a war and they will come (hopefully).

I routinely drive around an hour or more from the suburbs into the city for local Pittsburgh wars and have for years. Further (~once a year) drives were 6-ish hours to NJ, DC, and I think it was even longer to Toronto. That's all car-pooling, though.

I live in Calgary Alberta, and if WANO is happening again this year. I'll be making the 12 hour drive to Seattle to exchange some foam. I say the drive is worth it!

About two hours is the max I will drive to pretty much anything. As far as Nerf goes anything over an hour isn't worth it for me.

My drives average around 2 hours I'd say. Farthest I'll go is usually around three hours, like this upcoming war at the airsoft arena hosted by Koree. Closest was Babbage Park, just over an hour's drive.

I also love in Indiana, Greensburg to be specific, to play I usually drive to Cincinnati. I know there are some others in Indiana as well, maybe we could put something together in Indy some time.

In Cinci we actually have a war every Sunday from 12-4ish, and sometimes smaller 2 hour wars at a nearby church on some Saturday nights. I'm planning on hosting something larger if our usual big Cinci war doesn't happen soon enough. If ya'll felt like driving to Cinci for relatively small things (it's at Boldface Playground, it's not huge so it isn't amazing for larger than 20-30 people.) we'd love to have you.

Edit: Completely forgot to add to the actual topic itself; I normally drive about 40 minutes for mine, but I'm going to NoMNE later this year which will be a 10 hour trip. That's probably the longest I'll drive myself, anything further and I'd either take a bus or carpool.
