[Han Solo the Nerf Herder]

Just wondering: Has anyone ran into an actual, orange-trigger Bigshock?

I know stock photos show an orange trigger, but in every Youtube review (U.S. included), and even written reviews on Amazon, I have only seen/heard of grey-trigger Bigshocks.
For example, the Target nearest to me only carries grey-trigger Bigshocks.

I mean, it's not a big deal, I'm just kind of curious!

Yeah. I was going to order one off Amazon because in the picture its orange trigger. Then, like you, I read the reviews and either people specifically said they actually recieved he grey trigger or didn't say anything about the trigger. I would try contacting Hasbro on this one. If US versions don't start showing up at my local Target, then that's what I'm going to do.

EDIT: so to answer your question, no. I haven't been able to find good ol' orange, yet... I'll post whatever info I get from Hasbro, if I get anything useful or the blaster itself.

I don't believe the gray trigger has a "limited" performance for this blaster. Having recently modded one, link here , I was able to check FPS readings before and after. Stock form with the mega darts it was registering roughly 65fps. It was pretty respectable and no noticeable restrictions inside the blaster. Unless the only difference is the spring. I guess we wont really know until an orange one surfaces. My Nerf Sharpfire and Doubledown are also gray triggers.

Interesting that those other two are also grey trigger.

I wonder if Hasbro is saving money by only making one version of certain blasters from now on.
I don't know how their manufacturing process works, but if it's even a little cheaper/simpler to only make one version of a blaster that would be "legal" in all markets they sell in, then yeah.
Plus for the casual consumer (where I imagine the majority of Hasbro's income comes from), they probably can't tell grey from orange apart anyways lol.

My understanding is it was a safety issue with their product in other countries, projectile shooters are not "toys" in some countries if they can (this is the specific I'm not sure of) shoot a certain range/FPS (I believe it's range dependent, but the reduction could be an incidental function of the FPS reduction). I believe the range the old grey elites were advertising was in the neighborhood of 75 instead of 90 (or maybe even 60, it's early, my memory sucks, and I'm converting metric- I am America in the 80's)

It's not an "elite" blaster it is part of the N-Strike line. I don't think the grey/orange trigger makes a difference like with an Elite blaster. Seeing as they don't even put the range claim on the package.

It is a matter of regulation, not product line symmetry or packaging. These regulations exist whether acknowledged on the package or not. Ask an Aussie.

That is true. BUT, the blue jolt (and maybe every reshelled "true" jolt) DID in fact have an orange trigger. So, if you ask me, I think they are going to have one sooner or later, maybe later on down the road.

and maybe it might make a difference; or it might not make a difference, like Griever said.

if they do make it like an orange trigger sort of difference like elite blasters, then that would be cool.

Also, if you ask me, I think that the only reason why they don't currently have an orange triggered one is because of the fact that it is mainly orange.
