if you want NiMH, i would suggest you just go get them from the store rather than from this vendor. if you want 9.6v specifically... you can probably add an extra battery tray to your blaster to put the NiMH into.

i doubt that pack has more than a 5A discharge. The wires are so thin...What store might have NIMH packs?
I think this same battery is available in radioshack.

if you really wanna go with the NiMH battery pack, be prepared to hack a ton of shell space out to fit it inside. it's likely a 9.6v pack that is a performance improvement will hardly fit in the blaster, if at all. I've gone a stryfe battery mod and the minimal cutting I had to do to fit a small 7.2v lipo still took up almost all of the available space and would not have been enough for anything larger than a 4 or 5-cell subC celled rechargeable NiMH pack. 9.6v is about 8 cells, and that is highly unlikely to fit unless you use cells that do not have the current-output ability to keep up with the motor demand (though that's not saying it's impossible to find such a pack, it's likely you'll have to do the custom pack soldering yourself with raw cells and pack terminal ties)
LiPo is a very close relative of li-ion, and since li-ion is in every phone and laptop battery, it's not that it's not safe. you have to engineer a solution to make it safe. one way is to make the charging port flush mounted to the blaster's shell, and provide a little plug to reach from the blaster to an automatic charger (hobby king has these for cheap. they charge through the balance plug an are very very safe.) the lipo can be hard-wired and strapped to the blaster's circuitry and insides and then sealed with heatshrink to make the connection water resistant. the blasters switches can be hot-glue sealed on the electrical terminal side to protect from moisture and make it water resistant. the charging port can be inside the battery tray area, and some thin rubber coatings can be glued around the edges of the battery door to make it water-resistant as well, protecting the charge plug. if you're really really really paranoid, you can put flame retardant cloth around the battery pack. the shell of the blaster will protect the lipo though.
essentially this described method turns the blaster into a rechargeable blaster, rather than taking the battery out and going through a bunch of procedures.
Of course this can be applied to rechargeable NiMH pack as well, though again i reiterate that you will be incredibly hard pressed to find a pack that will fit with work (because the stryfe is one of the least spacious flywheel blasters besides the barricade/stockade)

no they are better but not high discharge like you need those are 1C so 400 mA.has anyone tried something like these http://www.amazon.co...s/dp/B0057QCGRM

these would be better http://www.amazon.co...rds=efest 14500 and do close to 10A discharge if you can jump 1 more size up to 18650 purple efests can do 30A

Those are 18650 cells, they are not the standard AA sized cells.

18650 cells are inherently better than 14500 size. They do not fit in the AA holders, but they are capable of dramatically higher current discharge and capacity, due to the larger size. Remember that a "10C" discharge rate on a 900mAh 14500 is about 9 amps, while the same rate on a 2200mAh 18650 equates to 22 amps. This is a significant difference and should not be discounted. Stop talking out of your hat.

oh. in that case, mount whatever battery you want.I am mounting it externally, so I do not really care about the size.
there's no more "right battery" to do about it. just get a pack you think will do fine, and mount it. there's really no specific batteries to go for at that point.

That is just about perfect except it might be too big to fit in a stryfe. Anything LiFePo4 is much safer than *fires. *fires are absolute sh1t.

Why not?Yea I do not want IMRs, I was just wondering if those would work. Maby I can find a better one.
li-ion are the dangerous ones and are what most trustfires are.
li-mn are imr and are safe
Lifepo4 safest most durable chemistry...
Li-ion and li-mn are charged in the same charger and my charger the nitecore D4 has an option to charge lifepo4

Then again, you could always rum more if you mount externally.
