After browsing ebay for some 14500 IMRs, I found these trustfire IMRs. Does anyone know if these will provide enough current for 180's like lipos do? http://www.ebay.ca/i...=item23475411d4

Trustfires cannot put out the amps that a lipo pack does. Not even close.

I believe that it is only the purple efest IMR cells that put out enough current.

It is not the type of cell that determines the current (discharge rate)...for instance, even some of the packs on hobbyking have a low "C" rating that is unsuitable for our applications.

You would have to find some specs on these specific batteries to know if they are what you need, and also trust the seller to be giving you a quality product that actually matches those specs.

I ran the trustfire IMR 14500s at one point, and they were on par or marginally better than normal trustfires, but EFest V2s are significantly better, even in 14500. With trustfires, running them in parallel made a huge difference in flywheel windup, while with the EFests there was no noticeable change.

EBay trust fires... do we need to go over the biggest source for counterfeit cells again. They are not even cheaper than the red efest on amazon.

Buy the purple efest and mod for 18650 size or the 14500 red v2 they do about 10A the purple do 30A-60A though finding them in 14500 has been not fun. Also the eBay auction listed those at aaa size or 10440. Either the lister has a typo or he knows nothing about batteries.

14500 cells do not have the current capabilities for 180s. Those take a lot of current.

Just look at the difference in discharge rates for an eFest (8c) and a LiPo. Huge difference.
