Remember, using these locations is a privilege, not a right. Use the golden rule: Don't Be A Dick.

Dart?
Slugs and safer darts only. No metal is preferred but I understand that to maximize attendance while keeping it safe I need to keep this restriction more open. If you do make slugs, use #6 washers and not #8 washers. Use Ryan McNumbers' excellent guide available here if you plan on making slugs. If you use larger ammo, like megas or similar, keep them soft-tipped by the same guidelines as above.

What isn't allowed?
With dart restrictions, there isn't as much of a need for blaster regulations. Don't bring Titans shooting micro darts because that's just ridiculous. I and other war council advisors will spot-ban things if you are lasering dudes from a million miles away.

Blaster rules:

HOMEMADE AIRGUNS: If you are not Doom, please do not bring them.

TITANS: You may use them if they fire missiles (stock or Draconis or whatever) or balls. They must not be firing darts.

LBB/4B/UMB/SIMILAR: You may use them if they have the stock OPRV.

SUPER SOAKERS/SIMILAR: Do not bring them. If they shoot darts, they're too powerful. If they shoot water, then people get mad.

SCEPTORS: If you want to use a Sceptor, make it colorful. Make it look as little like a paintball gun as possible. Wrap the tank in denim or something. If you replace the tank or pump, the OPRV must be kept at the same pressure and the tank volume may not be made any larger (stock, is about 800cc).

SUPERMAXX 2000/5000/9000: Do whatever. I hope you don't blow up your tank.

MELEE WEAPONS: Don't bring anything larger than these.

SHIELDS: Hits on shields count as hits on you if you plan to use them. Manta Rays welcome.

What gametypes?
The usual.

If you have specific questions or concerns, PM me, or post them here, or whatever.

There is an HVZ game in Camarillo I've always been interested in trying out on the same day. How much wiggle room is there for the date?

There is a fair amount of wiggle room; I could do it the week before or after. After puts it two days after Christmas, though, which means I will definitely be free but I imagine some people will not be free that day.

Let's just say the week before, so the 13th of December. How does that work for people?

They had two different dates. I guess their war is the 14th, not the 20th. The 13th and the 20th both work for me then.

In that case, let's stick with 20 December. Now is a good time for any person with date concerns to let me know, though.

Looks like we're sticking with the 20th. Hope to see everyone there. Bring a horrible sweater (or not, it's your choice and nothing will happen if you do or do not).

Darn, I have been out of the loop for a while. 'Geddon was the last war I attended. All my blasters are totally broken and so are my darts along with my barrel systems. Looks like I am not gonna be able to make it.

Cam HvZ is going big this year, I am backbone admin, on the 20th committed two months ago. I would love to go but I do have this obligation. This could really drop your-their attendance levels for these events, I would put it on a different date.

Looks like a lot of people online would prefer the 27th, due to HvZ having been moved to coincide with this war's current date. I'm good either way.

If two powerful is a problem then just go with one powerful. I guess this style of hopper will work even beyond three powerful..

Looks like that's the word on the streets. Thanks especially to Pants for posting on Facebook while I couldn't. Everyone should be nice to him because he's going to be driving down through garbage traffic. The war is now the 27th; same everything else. I'll update the first post. Tell your friends.

Christmas sweaters still equally welcome.

Bonus. Let me know what you need me to bring for you.

As a reminder, in case anyone saw the beginnings of this thread and didn't bother to check (why would they check now? I don't know, I don't have any relation to that kind of mindset), the war is not this coming weekend. It will be the 27 of December, a week from this Saturday. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Maybe a pair of those skinny khakis you wear to every war. I only have yoga pants.

A quick recap:

Pros
Having the marshmallow blaster work eventually
Getting the cleanest speedround win ever with ice9
Watching Korned get there in time for the final dart sweep, and nothing else

Cons
Everything breaking.
Getting cut in the face by a barrel
Getting Roboman's aluminum barrel stuck forever

That's pretty much the stuff right there. Tim broke two more of my things so we're up to three total (of those three, none were his fault).

Thanks for coming out, everyone. It was super fun. Things I liked:
  • Hoongfu managing to take a break and join us for a day.
  • Boom Co. Whipblast: the most fun stock blaster I've played with in recent memory (up to maybe the Powerstrike 48?).
  • Freeze tag and speed rounds.
  • Kids not getting blasted, and moms not calling the police.
It was just a generally excellent war. I'm glad you all could make it possible.

One cannot simply put the war in a box of plusses and minuses. However the war could be summed up into one word, californication.

Being from the east coast I didn't know what to expect. I've only heard about the "lazy" nerfing on the west coast. It started off a brisk 40 deg F. I started to second guess my choice of cargo shorts. Not too long after I ventured into the light I saw a familiar car and ice9 showed up with CaliforniaPants!

I was going to write up some elaborate wall of text but Iím lazy.

  • Meeting everyone (Cannonball!)
  • First round free for all
  • tag team'd cartaya with Ice9
  • duel with cannon ball
  • Freeze tag
  • ice9 sommersault
  • constant 360 no scopes
  • TDM - Duel with ice9
  • Carpe
  • got rekt
  • broke +bow priming handle
  • Lunch The Hat
  • freeze tag
  • speed rounds
  • jon and hans OP
  • me and zeke
  • Broke 4BJax stock
  • boomco
  • Target
  • Anime
  • Never ending Flappy Jacks line
  • Welding
  • Broke 2 more of Ice9's blasters

Here's some videos.
