Now, I've painted several WarHammer 40K miniatures, my latest one being this dude. He's only about 1.5" high, and 2.5" long. I'm more used to painting on a 3-D surface, but this time I'm going to be painting her on the side, on a flat surface. It's going to be a mix of painting a miniature and a normal piece of art on canvas, I'm assuming...
Primer is drying, more updates to follow.

I started with the hardest part, the face. From here on there should be little difficulties, just lots and lots and lots and lots of wet blending. Here's a pic of what I have so far:
And here's a zoom of the face.
Any artist knows that painting on a smooth white surface is much easier than painting on a dark purple, plastic one. So that white stuff is the primer. If anyone was wondering, I am using Games Workshop paints, about a dozen or so of them.
More painting updates to follow.

As for making her topless - eh, she's already wearing a skin tight (perhaps air tight, too) skimpy lil' number, I don't think making her topless will be that appealing or necessary. It's a pinup, I had to show some decencey. I wouldn't want it to be that distracting when I'm running around Nerfing...
"Groove! Guy, 12 o'clock!"
"Mmmmm..."
"Groove?!"
"...boobies..."
"GROOVE!!"
"mmm...what were you saying?"
As for a mastubatory Crossbow...this isn't an X-rated Xbow, and anyone that can masturbate to a painting like this...needs some help. *cough* *cough* ALEX *cough*
Dan, your lil' number was simply a motivational tool. I told the guys at DCN I wanted to do this, and now I am.
I'm thinking that once I'm through with some chores and CS scrims I will be able to post some more painting updates.

'Cept I'm not much of a painter, more of a drawer. I think the printable sticker would work good. But not as cool as painting it. It's like a work of art. You know, like those guys that carve these insane designs over the whole barrels of guns?
Like this, except they carve in the metal barrel. Of like glocks and Colts.

I'll let you know when you can start again.

Oh my god Groove, that's brilliant. I know people who would shit gold bars for an xbow like that much style. It's perfect the way it is, but I just wonder what it would look like OD green, with the nerf logo on the stock, and a little black dart icon for each "kill"Painting update:

Some OD green, some kind of silver detailing or shark teeth to make it have that older bomber feel. Im thinking of doing something like grooves SF with the two ill be getting soon, but with a good/evil/positive/negative thing with the set.

I love the idea of painting the George petty on the side of and x-bow, classic act…classic. I thought of the same idea, well not as top notched as yours but a symbol pin-up on the side of one of my guns. Kick ass paint job… for you I will pay for your cookie.

hell yeah, but I said his was perfect the way it is because there's a fine line between adding just enough style, and flat out reproducing a particular style on your piece. I think his is just enough. The full bomber might be a bit much.Katachi, I was actually thinking the same thing....

I know people who actually admit to doing this with anime pr0n. Now that I think about it, that really, really scares me. I agree with you, Groove. Whoever jacks off to a drawing really needs helpAs for a mastubatory Crossbow...this isn't an X-rated Xbow, and anyone that can masturbate to a painting like this...needs some help. *cough* *cough* ALEX *cough*
Great paintjob! I wish I could do something that detailed. For my painting projects, I am working on airbrushing The Cheat on my NES right now. When I'm done, maybe I'll post pictures of it in the off-topic section.

I cant wait to see the finished product, youve got the face pretty damn good. I was never good at painting faces, or anything humanlike for that matter. Gotta love wet blending acrylics.
