Don't leave your blasters in the car or this shit will happen.

The PVC entered a glass transition state (became soft) and began to conform to whatever it was resting on. I suppose based on the curvature it acted as a simply supported beam. Point being, the inside of a car can get really hot, and I'm only in New York.

I left my child inside a hot car. Now I shall spend the weekend rebuilding her. With MORE FREEDOM this time around.

EDIT: This was in the actual cabin of the car, not the trunk. The trunk is shielded from the Sun's rays, so it stays relatively cool even on warm days. The windows of the passenger cabin of the car allow the sun to get in, and turn it into a greenhouse.

Ryan's first PAC died this way. Clear PVC seems more vulnerable to this, but right now the sample size is 2.

I know there are a few placed online where you can get colored pvc pipe. It, along with conduit, have different chemicals added when the dyes were put in that give it a much better UV resistance. Conduit isn't generally available in the sizes we use, but colored pvc (also called furniture grade, for use in outdoor pvc furniture) comes in all our standard sizes. So it should hold up better to UV rays and heat for a longer period of time.

I ordered a clear LTB from ryan last year when they came out. Before he shipped it to me he had forgotten it in his car and he said it melted.

This is one of the few reasons we don't warranty clear blasters. I have had this happen to two or three blasters now. Clear PVC is inferior.

Edit: Also furniture grade PVC isn't the same as standard Sch 40 stuff. It's usually 1.5" ID instead of ~1.36".

Probably, I mean it locks and launches darts, but I am ashamed to call it my son. I need to replace the plunger tube or I will not be happy.

Experimenting with production techniques with opaque PVC now. Fixtures seem to be the answer.
