So me and a couple of other nerfers (Liam Davis and Chris Cartaya) decided to make a new challange, the result of this was the shot in the arm challenge. The shit in the arm challenge is sort of like ALS ice bucket in that there is an out clause. Rules of the shot in the arm challenge are:

-When nominated, you have two choices:
1.) Shoot yourself point blank in the arm with your most powerful blaster
2.) Donate $10 to a charity of the challenger's choice (this is the out clause)

-There is also a fps record for blasters that shoot over 230 fps. If you want to go for the record, you
have to do a chronograph at the beginning of your video

Just trying to spread awareness of this challenge so nobody gets confused when they get nominated.

Regardless, this feel-good fad donation stuff is such bullshit. If you want to help the ALS Association, just donate to them directly and skip the theatrics. Or better yet, donate to a local charity, who can probably put the money to more effective use. Charity shouldn't be about viral marketing or herd behavior - that just leads to a flood of money towards relatively unimportant causes, while the really important, desperate causes go unfunded because they aren't as hip.

Damnit Beavs, I want to watch all the youtube nerfers shoot themselves, don't fuck this up for me.

Seriously though this is a pretty silly thing to do. The set of people who have high powered modified/homemade nerf guns is such a tiny community, and for people outside of the community the best case scenario is that this would annoy and confuse them. Just do the stupid ice bucket thing like everyone else, or get all righteously indignant and donate money to your local chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Local Free-range Organic Butt Touchers like Beavs here.

Or, if you want to do something that isn't an embarrassment to us all, you could try just organizing a cleanup at your local nerf venue for a few hours before your next war. Hand everyone trash bags and have them pick up litter at the most neglected local park during the lunch break, so you're actually leaving the place nicer than you found it. If enough people did that, we might have to actually give out a prize for it or something.

This is extremely offesive. You clearly do not understand the ice bucket challenge. My company is a corporate sponsor for the ALS foundation. Not only we fulfill their mobilty needs we raise money for the cause year round... the whole point of the ice bucket is for that brief moment , too feel what an als patient feels daily. But if doing the challenge you also need to donate to the cause and not just look for a "look at me on social media"
