Inside or outside of the plastic? I painted flat black on the inside of that side, so it looks dark, shiny green. So orange and silver would make..shiny slorange.

Understandable. What mod did you use? Im just curious?

not slightly. the confederacy wasnt formed to preserve slavery, nor did it stand for racism. it stood for state's rights and an agricultural economy. you cant view the past through the lens of modern morality, or youll never understand it. it wasnt right, but its how it was. racism was such a taken-for-granted part of the morality of the day that they would never have considered fighting a war over it.
also, the north was just as racist. lincoln freed the slaves to hurt the south's economy. no majority of white people anywhere in the 1850s though blacks were equal.

yea, i find the confederate flag offensive. most people around here agree, and our school system will suspend you if you flash one of these flags. OKTO, much of your reasoning about the civil war is highly debatable/questionable, but this isn't the place to talk about it.

Nice paintjob man, I love it, even though I live the furthest from the south up here in Michiganland.

Accord, why the heck would you personally have a reason to find the confederate flag offensive? I think people need to not be pansies and stop being offended by every little thing.

I think Wask merely wanted to make something in honor of the General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard, which I hope that most of you know about that show (it's a good classic 70's TV series), so I don't believe that he intended to be racist at all.

Great paint job, Dan! I never thought about putting together a project like that.

I don't agree. Wow, your school is anal. I hope you wouldn't get suspended for flashing a flag THAT DEALS DIRECTLY WITH OUR COUNTRY'S HISTORY.

I personally think the confed flag is cool, funny, and it adds a 'rebel' touch to it. I have to agree with Okto this time. It was nicknamed "the war between the states," not "the war between the races."

When a guy that wears spandex and plays with other guys call your a panzy, that's pretty insulting, no?

yeah, accord...its not debatable. there isnt any evidence of race-conscious motivations for the civil war, while there were plenty of debates in the house and senate pre-secession about states rights, and gen. lee declined command of the union army not because he hated black people, but because he loved his virginia home dearly and would not fight to see her rigths taken away and her sovereignty, as he saw it, undone.

also...unless your AIM screename is a joke, youre asian. slavery has nothing to do with you.

Go back and study up on Abraham Lincoln. Abolishing slavery in the South was punishment to the southern states. THE NORTH WAS NOT INITIALLY INCLUDED!

Mmmmm.. I think the gas stations here carry Slorange Slushees here in the summer. Only available for a limited time.

...an agricultural economy...

Involving slavery. You say that the south wasn't racist, and then you turn around and say that the north was just as racist. I agree, the north was very racist. But the south was more so.

Dude Dan, that pistol fucking owns. I love it. Infact, I'm thinking of painting a George Petty Playboy Pinup on the side of my Crossbow.

By the way, I'm from Virginia ~ It's called HERITAGE, NOT HATE.

That is all.

People wave that flag just to get attention, because it is so debated over. If nobody made big deals about being offended by the flag, nobody would care much about displaying the flag proudly, unless they are involved in the subject. Teenagers like to get attention, and displaying the flag is one of your silly ways. Leave the heritage to the people that are actually involved in the subject, and waving the flag around or reading a history book doesn't make you involved.

I can't stand it, in high school I used to see a few kids with confed flags taped to their notebooks, sewn to their book bags. It was pretty gay, they did it just to get attention from people. They claimed it was heritage and such and such, all they did was pay a little attention to the history book. Blah blah blah, the flag isn't that offensive, and it isn't a big deal.

Don't underestimate or dismiss the power of a symbol.

The majority of you seem to believe it stands for Something Grand about the south's history. Others have very strong negative associations. You have the right to think what you want, but you can't tell others how they should interpret it.

For many cultures, a swastika is an ancient symbol of balance, peace, or religion. Most of those people are smart enough to realize that other people might have a different perception of the symbol and wise enough to avoid displaying it.

A bit off-topic, but i think the swastika is actually the peace symbol backwards. So anti-peace, basically.

Different cultures have used it for thousands of years in all four orientations. The only thing unique about the Nazi version is that it's on a white disk over a red field. There was a precursor to the Nazi use which was also aryan associated and was identical in orientation to the Buddhist version.

The various orientations are not usually recognized as seperate symbols since they all take the form of a cross with arms bent at 90 degrees.

The name 'swastika' itself means well being.
