Alright, i'll start things off by saying i found one of these things sitting all alone on a random shelf in the Lego section at my local Walmart. I picked it up in the hopes that it was a bigger panther, and i was correct. This thing is a monster and shoots elites like no other, i have no areas to range test this blaster, but it hits hard, very hard.
____________________________________________________

MOD GUIDE STARTS HERE
_____________________________________________________

REMOVE ALL THE SCREWS FIRST, THERE ARE NO HIDDEN SCREWS

Here is a basic picture of the blaster

Posted Image

Start off buy getting yourself a small Flathead screwdriver(SMALL!!)

Posted Image

Take your screw driver and start to pry off this orange ring that sits around the trigger button.

Posted Image

It should not be hard, and should look like this:

Posted Image

Next, begin to pry apart the shell. Start at the end with the pump handle. The orange muzzle thing at the other end will prohibit you opening the shell fully

Posted Image

Alright, now make sure to grab the pump tube as well as the pump plunger, pry open the shell as far as you can and start to pull on the internals

Posted Image

The internals are not glued screwed or otherwise attached to the blaster in any way, they should come out easily and look like this:

Posted Image

Now remove the pump handle and get your glue of choice, We are plugging the pump (its exactly the same as a panther):
Put glue on the head of the plunger, along with the hole in the side.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Now get yourself a saw( I used a hacksaw) and locate the barrel on the internals. Cut off the barrel just below the two holes in the sides, NO LOWER NO HIGHER!

Posted Image

Now file down the edges of the barrel to make it a little less rough, The Blaster will now shoot elite darts, along with buzzbees and stefans( and megas??).

Posted Image

This concludes the guide, Simply follow the instructions in reverse if your having trouble with reassembly

_________________________________________________________

Pro tips for this blaster, i killed darts so you don't have to.

Posted Image

-4-5 pumps is the breaking point for standard elites

-Buzzbee "airmax extreme" darts will do 10-15 pumps without breaking

-I'm 90% sure the gun will work with mega darts, but had none to test it with

-The gun shoots harder than the panther, with a bigger tank and the ability to do 20+ pumps

-(or so i heard) the gun uses a different valve than the panther, Something about a "piston" valve ( i have no clue what this means)

- this is my favorite way to hold it :

WARNING I COULDN'T RESIST TESTING

The gun WILL NOT work with 20 pumps in it, it will simply auto shoot.

It seems that 14-16 pumps is the limit, depending on how much air gets in the tank with each pump

I will also point out a possibility, as my panther could easily pull 20+ pumps. I'm gonna start a conspiracy theory. I think buzz bee knows what people did with the panther, and that the same thing will happen to this gun, the have purposely put some sort of "auto fire" mechanism inside the valve, so people don't make stupid crazy stuff ( like what could be done with a titan. On the upside, it means no tank over pressure explosions.

Although intended as a safety feature, the automatic firing of the blaster after 20+ pumps could be used to make this an automatic blaster, if the mechanism itself is sturdy enough. A regulator, metal hard tank, and compressor would make this interesting.

Good review/mod guide, and could you possibly measure the inner/outer diameter of the barrel?

If two powerful is a problem then just go with one powerful. I guess this style of hopper will work even beyond three powerful..

Ooh i never thought of that auto feature, the thing is only $12 canadian, so if you broke it, its super cheap to replace.

(approximate)
ID: 1.35 cm
OD:1.65 cm

And i should also point out that when the gun "auto fires", air is also released out of the pump area, forcing the pump handle back and out, along with the air thats coming out the barrel. I'm not sure how the valve inside works, but this could a similar problem to guns not catching because their catch springs are too week, maybe a stronger spring/piston?

I'm so glad I saw this. Have you seen it at any other places than Walmart? Also, is the pump solvent welded to the tank? I can see this becoming a beastly primary in a different shell and an RSCB.

Pump is solvent welded to the tank :(

I've seen ONE of these guns, two if you count the pictures of them on /r/Nerf. I found it in west-brook mall of Calgary, Alberta, along with a sling fire. This Walmart is KNOWN(by me) for employees putting shit out early, whenever a anything i want is announced and for sale at Walmart, i go there to check if i can pick one up 1-2 days or even 2-3 weeks early.

Do you have pics of the dump valve hole? I'm curious about the size of it compared to the Panther Tank.

The 'Range Master' also had the same 'auto' fire mechanism (looks to be the same tank actually). It was due to a weak check valve and not actually a true mechanism by design.

If it is the same design as the Range Master, constant tripping of this 'mechanism' will inevitably burst the check valve. When that happens, the tank will not be able to hold pressure. At least not without some modification/fixes.

Assuming it utilizes some type of piloted air valve, in which the trigger releases a small amount of air to actuate the valve, it could be entirely possible that the small trigger valve can't take the higher pressures and simply leaks at a certain point, actuating the main valve in the process.

No. That's not it. It's the weak check valve. The evidence is the pump being blown back as it 'mis-fires'.

Unfortunately i have no pics of the Dump valve hole, i made the blaster into a sledgfire shell shotgun before even thinking of taking a picture :P.

I don't think its the same tank as the range master, or i certainly don't remember them looking the same, I'm pretty sure its bigger.(took apart a range master LONG ago)

Thanks for this great mod! I am just wondering, why not wrap the two holes on the barrel with tape then just cut away the tip, wouldn't this give you a longer barrel to fit the dart in? By the way, I saw it at target in Canada for just $8.99! (But I haven't pick one up yet...)

What happens if you cut the original barrel shorter?
