Hello NerfHaven! I am new to this forum but not new to Nerf. I recently got an old Nite-Finder in a trade, and it hasn't really satisfied my range needs. Im looking to shoot around 70-100 ft flat, and I know more mods are required (barrel replacement, filling dead space), but I was wondering whether or not to get a 10kg or 6kg spring. I want the best performance out of my gun, but I also want my internals to last! I was looking at these kits: http://www.ebay.com/...984.m1423.l2649 and http://www.ebay.com/...984.m1423.l2649 . The first one has a 10kg spring, and the second one just says "industrial", but I can assume its between 6 and 10. Any suggestions? I have looked at all the mod guides and none of them really go into too much depth on the subject, so don't yell at me saying "WE ARENT GOING TO SPOON FEED YOU" lol. Yeah spring loads in terms of Kg is actually a pretty recent occurance (last couple years) so very litle in the past has spring loads in lbs or Kgs.

I've been using a Home Depot garage door spring (purchased in this spring assortment) recommended here on the haven that has worked fantastically with the last two NF's I've done. The only problem is that the spring requires some heavy reinforcements, among them bolting the plunger tube to the shell.
Sure makes an NF shoot hard though.

I used a spring from a broken colt airsoft gun for mine and I get good results so if you have a broken airsoft gun use the spring.

Use a home depot handyman spring. I think the product code is SP 9713. just search that at the home depot website.

If you have an ace, true value, or any other place that sells springs made by century springs, go to that place and get the 4" long by .875" wide compression spring. These are by far the best and easiest springs to use in a nite finder.

addendum: I see that you want 70-100 feet out of it, those ranges out of a nite finder are really only possible with couplering a draw extended nite finder, or replacing its internals. Or just go buy a pistol splat.

I do have a local Ace Hardware, and I have also heard that the Ace 49 is a good spring for my gun. Any experience with this spring?

They are extensively used and liked - they are equivalent to shortened [k26] springs.

Nite finder rifles aren't too hard, in fact I would say that they are one of the easiest and best performing mod that you can do to most stock nerf guns. They should really only take about an hour to build, and they would give you well more than the 70+ feet you want.
