Hi. I've finally gotten around to gutting the AT3k, and I am extremely fascinated by the liquitron guage that tells you the capacity of your tank. I was wondering about three things:

a ) I want to replace the pump because the stock one is downright awful. What's a good one to use for the AT3k?

b ) Should I replace the at3k tank?

c ) If I do either of these replacements, do I have to cut out the guage for fear of it exploding, or is it possible to mod it in a way that preserves it?

1) Any small bike pump or smaller diameter longer nerf pump (Magstrike, RF20, Hornet). Google it. You aren't the only one disgusted by the stock pump.
2) No. I've torn apart many AT3K's for people who replaced other tanks with 3k tanks.
3) Depends on how much pressure you intend to put in it. The goo gauge is a thin rubber sheet sealing colored mineral oil in the plastic tank. If you are really into the gauge you can probably replace it with a thicker sheet of rubber and see how it does (maybe even just a cut up piece of a punchbag balloon.) Not a big deal if you burst the gauge in terms of the rest of the blaster's functionality. Will just have blue oil squirting out of your blaster for awhile.

I tank expand ALL of my AT#K's with the goo goo gauge, and have never had a problem. just empty it all out, and solvent weld it together, then dip each screw with epoxy then screw it back in. I replace the stock 3k pump with a RP20 pump, and keep the stock tubing, and can push up to I believe 10 pumps, and get upwards of 140+ using CPVC barrels which is normally extremely erotic.

Threads like these are normally not allowed, just saying.

Just go check out the modifications directory to find modifications that fit your specifications. I would highly recommend ryanmc#'s write-up for 3K's. It is very thorough.

But, I would never replace the 3K's tank because it is already strong enough, and replacing it will most likely make your blaster banned at wars.

I would recommend following TheNerfOmania's full video writeup on YouTube. It's very thorough and in depth!

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Sorry if this type of thread isn't allowed, I figured it was more geared toward a discussion rather than a direct question.
