Anyone made any decent Stephans for a Nerf Centurion yet?

Also, any decent mods anyone's tried? I took out the air restrictor and taped the holes.

I'm pretty sure that the new Mega darts for the centurion are the same dimensions as the old megas; just with a different tip so they work in clips. 5/8" FBR cut into 4" or maybe a little less to accommodate for whatever you choose to tip them with should work fine with an AR removed centurion. As for mods, you can search google as well as any of us can.

Centurion mega darts are larger than 5/8 inch. They are closer to 3/4 inch. Someone was asking about a good barrel material for the new megas and 1/2 inch pvc was too small.

The new MEGA darts are the same as "Jumbo" darts which we have discussed here before. They are indeed approximately 3/4" wide, and because of this have been tricky to find both good foam for and good barrels for. The differently-abled 3/4" PVC pipes I use for rocket barrels (from bad batch of 3/4" Sch40 that I get from Venom, has 1.0" OD, instead of the normal 1.08" OD associated with 3/4" pipe and thus fits the rocket sleeves.) also have a perfect ID for MEGAs, allowing these blasters to perform double duty for both ammo types. I've tried the black 3/4" FBR from Amazon, but it measures about 18mm, more than a full millimeter too narrow. It fits great in 1/2" thinwall PVC and 3/4" Flowguard Gold CPVC, though. I have been able to find a single coil of about 20 feet of some light blue FBR which fits about the same as the OE Hasbro MEGAs, but have not gotten around to making any darts with it. Hopefully someone will be able to locate a good source, because I am certainly interested. As an aside, McMaster-Carr carries the perfect retrofit barrel material. 0.84" OD, with a 0.75" ID, fits MEGAs inside, 1/2" PVC couplers on the outside. Kinda spendy, though.


EDIT: I completely forgot to mention that 3/4" Sch80 PVC seems to fit pretty well, but is pretty heavy. These PETG shipping tubes also fit in to 1/2" PVC couplers, but are too loose inside for anything smaller than a Jobar. K&S Metals makes a brass tube size which should fit INSIDE the PETG and have a tight enough ID to be used for barrels, but they do not make it available via the standard hobby shop catalog. It may be ordered directly from them, or via Amazon for about $16.50 per foot. I am searching for an alternative material, but so far have had no luck. 3/4" seems to be a very common OD for metal and plastic tubing products, but a rather uncommon ID.

Just fill the tips with hot glue. I have experimented with this and they punch as hard if not harder than stefans, I would suggest filling them by cutting the tip off, this wont create the annoying area of melted plastic, making them more accurate.

That isn't what we are trying to accomplish. The MEGA darts are plenty heavy already. Filling the sizable space inside them with a hard glue is not necessary, and will almost certainly make people hit by them quite angry. Try a different method, or at least a different material.

I've found that if you cut off the hollow part of the tips and leave a flat surface, the darts will be far more accurate at the cost of range. The range loss is probably cause the dart doesn't go into the breech as far, maybe a felt pad would work, but I haven't tried.
