[Mr cleaver]

A few months back I ran out of 1/2" pvc. "Meh, no big deal" is what I told myself, but I was wrong.
Since I am a high school student, school takes up a majority of my time. On top of that I attend Ventures and lifesaving team practice so I have even less time to myself. So when I get a chance to go to Home depot I binge buy. But that time when I went to Home depot, they were out of 1/2" pvc! But the man told me that they had conduit available, so I bought that instead. So before I go and buy more conduit (because it is half the price of white pvc) does anyone know why it is so much cheaper and whether or not I should keep using it?

Wait a sec, is that 1/2" pipe? It looks like it, if it is, it's been overpriced by $4 dollars. If not, never mind.
One of the places where I get PVC sells conduit pipe for a little more than regular pipe. I'm not sure if that's the norm, that's just how my little local store prices it.

My local store also sells conduit for slightly more than schedule 40 pvc. And 1/2 pvc only cost a dollar and a half. Judging from the lines on that paper, it is half inch.
I believe there is little difference between the two, as long as it is labelled as schedule 40. If it is schedule 80, the inside diameter of the pipe will be larger.

Home Depot stores in the Louisville area sell SCH40 Conduit for cheaper than SCH40 PVC (white). The main difference is the composition which changes the usage. Conduit is resistant to UV rays and is less prone to deterioration when exposed to sunlight like SCH40 PVC (white). Conduit also seems to be about the same density but less rigid.

The inside diameter of sch80 will be slightly smaller. It's a lil' heavier than sch40 pvc electrical conduit. Used for under high traffic areas where you might worry about damage to the pipe. I sell the stuff
