Today, I was on the net as usual on my PC in our basement. Later this afternoon, we had a REALLY cool thunderstorm. In the midst of this, I (stupidly) forgot to unplug my computer from the house current (I don't have a surge protector, go figure). What this resulted in was a HUGE power surge and now I'm short a 300w power supply( ). I'm going to the shop tomarrow morning, to see how much a new one will cost. One last thing:
Fuck you, Mother Nature.
Fuck you.

The good ones are free. They pay for themselves the first time you have a surge and it doesn't fry your hardware.Surge protectors should be free or something.
It's the cheap-ass 'power strips' that you get in a two-pack for $10 at Wal*Mart that cost you. Those won't do shit vs. an electrical storm.
Newegg has good Belkin strips for $18.19. I have about 10 of those around the house.

Yeah, we have about three high-quality surge protectors in our office. The sad part is that every single friggin' space on them is completely filled, and its all my dad's stuff.

I have horrible memories of hard drives dying on me. Like my IBM piece of shit behind me that fried the HD three times in one year. This year it's only on one though. I'm smarter now and don't use that computer. I don't think I've had anything blow up because of a surge though, that must suck. Not really storm related, but my hard drive in my computer died a few weeks ago. That really sucked.

I can top that:Not really storm related, but my hard drive in my computer died a few weeks ago. That really sucked.
I had a 20 gig HD die recently that had every episode of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and 6700 Supernintendo ROMS. I found a place to download EVERY SINGLE GAME AND ROM FOR THE SUPER NINTENDO/FAMICOM and it's all gone! 10 gig of snes roms.... gone....

Australia runs on a 240V power supply.
American runs on a 120V? power supply. [I can't remember exact]
Yet, they still manage to systematically arse-fuck themselves.
Ohh, by the way Katachi, that was god's way of saying, "... grow the fuck up".
Pffffft, SNES, im still laughing.
