I was wondering if any one was interested in 3d printed stuff, I know I am not the first but I am selling Krono's 3d printed wye for $5.00. I do not pay for shipping but its $5.00 for the wye, I will also print any image I am sent and I will quote you also the first print is always expensive if you want something custom. If lots of people want stuff prices will go down a little, plus I also do colors but don't have a lot right now. My hope for this post was in no way to make money, I just wanted to expand 3D printing more into the modding community.

That being said, are the wye's actually printed by Kronos or just his file? Are they the most recent version, or are they the original red faulty ones?

Also, an item that I would strongly recommend you start making is the Nerf ZombieStrike Sledgefire shell. Once you have a functioning design, make a post in /R/Nerf. You wont be able to print them fast enough.

I'm mostly confused as to why you're charging a premium on first-runs, as there is no real setup time involved in printing, other than the few minutes it takes to run the model through a slicer and generate the code for your printer.

How much would you charge for custom parts? Would it be cheaper than shapeways? I've been thinking about getting some flywheels 3D printed.

That design is very flawed still, the darts do not form a good seal with the shell.

Then they would deserve to sell it, but the design that he has I would say is almost guaranteed to break, unless his printer is better than mine which is definitely a possibility.

I am also sorry I kind of flipped out. I know you aren't a hacker, and I am also aware that I am out of stock. This is because the design is not finalized, so I don't want to sell a shoddy product.

Yeah, 3D printed material will have a horrible dart seal with the barrels, but I have a way to solve that. (I am going to keep my plan to myself because I plan on selling these.)

Yes, there's a simple fix, unfortunately I have no interest in the Sledgefire haha. I understand there is a great deal of demand for them, many people steal them from stores unfortunately haha.

You do know that ZCorp printers print in plaster, and that the parts that come out of them are not intended to be functional models at all, right? They're designed to print a full-color scale model of something you designed, not a part that can be used in a mechanical device with any sort of strength or durability requirements. They are really cool machines in their own right (basically inkjet printers that deposit ink into the plaster to bind it locally), but plaster models would not last very long at all for nerf purposes.

Blasterparts.de sells a 3d printed centurion kit with a new barrel and mag adaptor that I think are vapor polished to make the seal with the dart. Just figure out a way to make a smooth surface like vapor polishing, or as you already mentioned, smash brass in the barrels, to get that seal.

Keep in mind, of course, that vapor polishing requires you to use ABS or a similar thermoplastic that's soluble in acetone. PLA is not, and you cannot get good results with ABS without a heated print bed.

Yes. You can print anything that will fit within the bed of said printer.

I do agree completely with what you said It is just for rapid prototyping or for fun. I was reading ice's recasting molding thread and I found it super interesting so I am going to try molding parts, because I was really wanting to make custom parts I or others needed then molding may just be better than 3D printing.
