Hey Guys,

I finished my LS with Frontgun Integration yesterday, and have encountered a bit of a problem. I removed all locks in the LS and I am finding that the "bolt assembly" is not consistently "staying forward" after priming. This results in a severe lack of power. I have discarded all locks, and have no interest in finding them and replacing the relevant one, I was just wondering if there was an "easy" fix. The LS still can be used effectively, it just means I have to triple check that the bolt is forward before firing, something that I do not want to have to do in a war situation.

What darts are you using, and did you modify the breech at all? I have found that Elite Darts do not work well with OMW Massacre kits, and the sole reason is dart fit. If you can fully slide the priming bolt forward and it comes back, then it's a vacuum problem. If the priming bolt cannot fully slide forward then something is blocking the slide or preventing the breech from fully closing, in the second case. Re-open it and fiddle with it.

You could anchor a bit of surgical tubing from the bolt sled to the shell so it automatically closes itself when the priming bar is released in the open position(much like a real semi-automatic rifle).

If you can fully slide the priming bolt forward and it comes back, then it's a vacuum problem.


I can slide it all the way forward, it just slides back very easily, and I can then just make sure it is pushed forward to fire, which is all good mucking around at home, but in a war situation where I am firing quite quickly, I really don't think it is at all practical to be pushing the bolt forward, checking to see if has stayed forward, pushing forward again and then firing. An no, no breech modification, just AR removal, air release hole plugged, spring addition and lock removal.

I had the exact same issue. I think it was the dart tooth's spring that was just strong enough to push the bolt back a wee bit, unless I held the bolt forward. I would suggest either
A.) foregrip priming mech, which your hand will always be on,
B.) A bit of craft foam that the bolt sled will compress and 'stick' on when in the forward position, adding enough friction to prevent slideback,
C.) a bit of surgical tubing or a small spring to pull the sled forward and hold it there, or
D.) any combination of the above.

If the cosmetics wouldn't bother you, something as simple as putting a rubber band on the priming handle externally and attaching it to the blaster farther up. It wouldn't be strong enough to mess with priming, but would hold it forward once it is primed.

I know that you said that you don't want to find the old locks, but this is how I solved the problem in my Longshot. I found that keeping the trigger lock piece installed and even using a more powerful spring for it does a great job of keeping the bolt sled forward, since it engages the back of the sled with a 45 degree slant. I cut the "hook" part of the trigger piece off to prevent the trigger itself from being locked. Before this, every time I ran with a Longshot, the bolt would come open. After, I have never once had the bolt open on its own.
