Seanbaby is crazy. You should see what he and Pfister did at E3. High-larious, though.

But he's nowhere near as crazy as Doc.

A few years ago, a friend of mine managed to find a large store of what are essentially small bombs. We rigged up a firing tube, dropped one in, lit the 2 foot fuse, and booked it. We ended up being the lightshow of the neighborhood with that thing. I think he still has it, maybe I can get it for this weekend...

Yeah, I love making fireworks with sparklers. You can shave the grey stuff off the stick of about 50 sparklers (comes off pretty easily) and put that inside two oppisite facing water bottle caps. Then you seal that with hot glue and drill a small hole for a fuse. It's awsome. First is shoots up sparks like a mini fountain then explodes, sending sparks everywere!

Another fun thing is to take the little piece of flint out of those bic lighter ind place it into a sping thats bent into an arch. Then all you have to do is flick it. It sends sparks about 10 feet!

I saw this on the net once and I will try to get the link.

Edit: link

What way do you recommend to shave it off without setting off the powder on the sparkler?

For fourth of July, I'll end up in Palm Springs with a bucket of KFC Popcorn Chicken and a Mountain Dew.

The simple things in life. :P

I was just in La Quinta (in the greater Palm Springs area) last week playing golf, and it was friggin' 120 degrees. My friends pool was 90 and it felt cold.

Anywho, on the 3rd I'm going to be forced to watch a parade of a bunch of golf carts decorated by 70+ year olds at my grandparents house. I hope I don't have too much fun. The 4th will be filled with partying and fireworks, however.

Well, I used a pocket knife and it didn't set it off. You just have to be carefull.

Come to think of it, there is an Indian Reservation less than an hour from my house. Maybe I should check there to buy fireworks.

Update: A couple of hours ago, I went to the fireworks stand 20 miles from my house, and picked up a whole arsenal. For about 35 bucks, I got a whole shitload (576) of bottle rockets, a few dozen smaller Roman Candles, 2 Dozen M100's, a 100-shot Missle Battery, and a box of Mini-dynamites (larger firecrackers). The stand owner even threw in a quarter brick of regular firecrackers for free! Score!

When we got back, me and my roommate were setting off a couple of mini-dynamites in my front yard (I live a few miles from the city limits, so the only time the cops come here is when someone calls them in, which is almost never). My roomate dug up an old, ugly pez dispenser, and we blew that away with a couple sitcks of the mini dynamite. Fun stuff.

If you can find a good quality fireworks stand, you definitely won't be dissapointed, and will get your money's worth.

Yeah, Ice and I built one of those bottle cap things today and these other sparkler cracker things. To make these, just tie a bunch of those cheap booby trap things to a sparkler and light the sparkler. Pretty good effect considering they cost about about 10 cents each.

Nerfspecialforces do not I repeat do not buy M-5000 they are deciptive and weak. They contain very little explocive powder. My individual blackcats are more destructive and contain more powder than them. Again DO NOT BUY THEM!!!
P.S. sparkler bombs rock.

Many diferent companies sell firecrackers called M-(number way higher than 80) in order to trick buyers into thinking they are buying explosives. The fact is that M-80's were banned in 1966 and them, charry bombs, or any other type of explosives are never sold by brand names. In order to obtain these (wich I don't recomend), you either have to buy them illigaly or make them yourself.

If you look around on the internet hard enough, you can find plenty of instructions for making your own fireworks (M80's, Roman Candles, etc.), however if you have good, regular fireworks available in your area, you may be better off buying those if you are not experienced in making your own. The main reason why more and more fireworks are declared illegal is usually because of safety concerns for the stupid. If everyone used common sense when setting off fireworks, we wouldn't need fireworks laws.

Me and my friends went and bought some fireworks from this store and this guy told us how to build a small bomb thing with sprinklers, did it with 36 sprinklers. When we lit it off it sounded like a double barrel shotgun. Heres a link off it sparkler bomb

hi

Okay, have you even read the Code of Conduct around here? If you don't have anything significant to post. don't post anything at all.

BTW, last night I set off my missle battery. Fun stuff. Good thing I live out in the boonies, or the cops might have paid me a visit....

You kids and your legalized firecrackers. In good old Canada, that shit is so illegal I want to piss myself. Hence going to your great country ;P, and picking up some cheap blackcats and cherry bombs. To have fun around here, you have to be smart... and a little insane, I shall explain.

Take a pop can and cut off the top and bottom, put one cut down the middle. Congrats, a aluminum sheet. Cut off any sharpness, you should have about a 3 inch tall aluminum sheet, about 6 inches long?

Make penny bombs. A penny with match heads glued with white-out to either side of the penny, and then wrap paper caps aroudn them. Give yourself 100 shots to a penny bomb. Wrap in a way that you cover the whole penny. Make 12-14.

Get a bar of magnesium, and start shaving it with a wood rasp. This is the hardest/most annoying part. I put mine in a table vice, and put a paper 'basket' below it, and then shave the magnesium down into a fine powder with the rasp, catching it all in the paper. Make about 10g, or a full film canister.

Wrap the pop can around a penny bomb and tape top, middle, and bottom with masking tape. Put tape on bottom of can, so that when the pennys are loaded, they don't fall out. Make sure when doing this to give the tape some slack so that when the first penny is loaded, it is outside of the can, but held with the tape. Load 5 more over the first penny. Make sure the bottom is sealed. Pour in the magnesium, and then a Tsp of black powder, obtained from a friend of mine who's dad makes bullets. Pile on last of penny bombs.

Wrap top part in tape, make sure the penny is outside of the can. This ensures that when hitting the ground, the caps will impact.

Wrap in more tape if needed.

Now, that took me about 12 minutes to make, and I made 3 of them for me and some friends. We came up with the idea ourselves when we were bored. You can add calcium to the mix if you want.

The operation is the throw the canister into the air, and when it hits the ground, the caps impact, sending a chain reaction to the middle, where you blackpower/magnesium mix is. The caps set off the black powder, which sparks... setting off the magnesium, which releases the energy needed to make the bomb work. Mine tend to flail around and spin, with twin magnesium tails, like a galaxy almost, sorta like ours. The light can blind though, so be careful.

I really needed something to do, so I wrote that out for you guys... Seriously, don't try it at home unless you're fucking sure you're being safe about it. When the thing goes off, pennys fly everywhere, as demonstrated by the scar on my friend's leg. They get hot.

Anyways, since I can't buy fireworks, this is what I do for fun with the guys. If you take this imformation and apply it to what you're doing, it's at your own risk. I'm so not fucking liable for what you do to yourself. I just wanted to give you a taste of how lucky you guys are to be able to buy stuff and do it legally... we have to do it the hard way .

Happy Independance Day... although a bit belated. I honestly have no connection to the U.S., except my mom is American... so I can't say God Bless America, because I honestly don't feel like I should.

Anyways, toodle ooh.

Yay! More ideas to help me risk blowing myself up! I should get to my workbench to throw together more stuff to light on fire.

I tried looking at some of the local areas that sell fireworks only for the 4th (Wal-Mart, grocery stores, etc.) and I still haven't seen them clearance their shit yet.
