I was wondering if anyone here is in the state of Virginia, hopefully even as close to me as the city of Richmond, Henrico County or an area near the two. Now that I have a decent arsenal I am looking to get involved in local groups and events.

Link to a recent war in your area, sure bet some people there are within a reasonable distance. I found this by typing the word "Virginia" in the search bar of the site.
I recall seeing another thread where a mod actually explained how to find forum members by area, but cannot remember the method. Until you decipher that riddle the search bar is your friend (city names, states, even parks in your area may turn up a result or two.) Good luck!
