This design is similar to most homemade airguns, and as such, the firing mech can be replaced with whichever sort of release mechanism desired, PVAT, Ball valve, WNTS, etc. Anything that isn't backpressure.
It works much like Kane's 7-11, compressing air "in the pump", and does not have a secondary tank that stores pressure.
The front nodule is the trigger, and is connected to the backwards check valve in the pump via steel rod. Depressing the front button is how you fire the blaster.
A visualization of how the blaster works. "Snapshot" taken at moment of firing, red is pressurized.
Materials
2" PVC
Caulk gun [large]
2" piston cup 9411K14 [Can be substituted with anything that has a 100% seal]
Firing mech of some kind [I used a check valve system]
2" to 3/4" PVC reducer bushing
3/4" PVC
Washers, nuts, and bolts.
Pic of the piston cup
The main body is just a piece of 2" pvc and the bushing couplered together.
If you havent noticed yet, I forgot to take pictures during assembly, but the whole thing is pretty simple.
Questions/Comments/Flames appreciated.
If two powerful is a problem then just go with one powerful. I guess this style of hopper will work even beyond three powerful..

Probably the most innovative thing i've seen in nerfhaven lately.
Does the trigger seal well?
How far can you the plunger down?

Wow,
Probibly the most innovative thing i've seen i nerfhaven lately.
Does the trigger seal well?
How far can you the plunger down?
Thanks.
The trigger seals well due to the fact that its a check valve cut in half.
The plunger goes as far as the tube, although I set a cap on distance with e-tape so I wouldn't go too far/tire my arm out.

Very cool, always cool to see something different, I'd love to see a demo video.
That's on its way, but KoRnEd is too busy playing League of Legends to upload it.

Also, I'll be that guy: approximate ranges?

Hah, I hear that. infamous and I never get anything done as a result of LoL.
Also, I'll be that guy: approximate ranges?
They actually got measured during the videos, 100+ with darts, 40-ish with Drac rockets.

Am I correct in assuming that this has a rate of fire of about one shot every six seconds? You have to squeeze the caulk handle about fifteen times before you can fire it, right?
To prime, you push it 2/3 down, then use the lever for the last third, which is pretty much impossible to hand-prime. It's about a shot every 3-4 seconds, with hopper or rscb of course. So slower than a pump action blaster, of course, but this is more of a conceptual build. Future models will have improvements.

If you knock the release lever at the back of the caulk gun, when the blaster is primed, does the metal rod fly back at you?
Its actually really hard to depress with the blaster pressurized. Two hands hard.
But yea, if you want to deprime it, that's how.

This is really cool and innovative Mysterio. I knew I had to check it out after you mentioned it in chat last night and it did not disappoint! Is the total materials cost similar to a SNAP MK V?
Thanks, and around 20 bucks, so I guess?
