Last week’s war was an awesome start to the season! Hopefully we can keep these going every 2-3 weeks.

When: Saturday August 3rd, 2013. 8:30 A.M. Setup and geek out, foam flies at 9:00– 12:00 P.M.

Where: Falcon Crest Park. It's at the end of 4065 S
Here is a map to show where the park is relative to 7200W and 4100S
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE NO RESTROOMS AT THE PARK!!!

What to bring:
*WATER! I’d say bring at least a gallon per person. Don’t get dehydrated! Freezing 1/2 -3/4 of it will keep it nice and cold through the war and is highly recommended.
*Sunscreen- it’s sunny, don’t turn yourself into a lobster.
*2+ Primaries- Sometimes they crap out on you
*Pistol
*Some kind of weird blaster that doesn’t shoot quite right for the awfuls round.
*Darts! All darts must be padded! NO EXPOSED METAL! No weight restrictions- but be reasonable. Also, bring any metal- free darts you have! I’m hoping to have a metal- free round or two.
*Friends- We are always looking for more participants!
* Try to bring blasters/ darts for your guests. If you don’t have enough, no biggie, I don’t mind lending blasters/ darts to new people, but please make newcomers aware that eventually they will be expected to own and maintain their own blasters/ darts. More participants are great- modders are even better.
*Loaner blasters and darts! I have some loaner blasters and a crap ton of darts, but it’s always better to have extra than not enough.
*Your B+ game and a good attitude! We Nerf for the fun of it- Not the win. We’ve never had a problem with bad sportsmanship, so I’m not too worried about this. Just don’t be a douche and have fun.
*Stuff you’ve been working on to show off!
*Cover! Mobstacles and similar items that can be used as cover would be appreciated. I currently don't have any, but I'll try to get some made eventually.

Blaster Restrictions:
*Preferably nothing that exceeds 130’ in range. Everything is pretty much on a case-by-case basis since we have a fairly small group.
*No blasters that could be mistaken for real weapons. At least have an easily visible orange tip.

Confirmed attendees:
Me +2
shmmee
TFH
and375
A Guy and his brother from shmmee's neighborhood

Possible attendees:
shmmee's cousin
Zakronkay
RageOtter
Another person, whom's username I do not know.

Feel free to ask questions/ let me know if I left something out. Also, let’s keep this thread active and show activity in SLC!

As Panda said, I don't think there is a way to fight gravity without a guaranteed loss. You could use magnets, but no one knows how those things work except the Mormons.

Or lasers. You should integrate some lasers into your Nerf darts. Problem solved.

Cool! Hopefully you can come. We had a good turnout at last week's war, (8 people- the most people I've ever seen at a SLANG war) so hopefully this one will be equally well attended.

I'm confirming as well. Be great to see a new nerfer or two! Wow, 6 hr drive for a nerf war? We feel special. I can relate though, I've driven 10 to make it from SLC to Armageddon. A good, well attended war is worth it - though 'geddon had 40, and we are pumped when we get 8.

No, not this years. I attended a few years ago. Though Glory1610 and I are currently kicking around ideas of going to next years 'Geddon.

Cool! Good to see all of these new Utah nerfers lately. (At least new on the forums/ people I haven't met yet.)

EDIT 7/27/13: One week from today! Can't wait!

Alright I'll be coming! With also a likely +2. If anyone has some darts to loan for the metal free rounds, I would appreciate that. I only have slugs anyway..

Awesome! Confirmed/ Possible attendees list updated. It's gonna be an awesome war! We'd be happy to lend you some metal- free darts. (Shmmee and I are the only people currently in possession of them at this war that I know of anyway).

Pardon the double post- I think a recap deserves it's own post.

Great war! We had 9 people show up! Tried some new awesome game types, and had a lot of fun.

Pros-
*9 people attended!
*We're getting a higher amount of actual modders, instead of just regular nerfers.
*Got to hang out with like minded people with the same (foamy) obsession.
*Crapload of fun with the new game types

Cons-
*Too short. (Time sure flies when you're having fun! Maybe we could try to get an all day war going sometime if we get enough people.)
*One of the attendees went to the wrong park

All in all, awesome time. Can't wait for the next one!
Also- Thanks to Shmmee for picking up my blasters!
