In order to raise some money for the site for hosting fees, contest prizes, and a possible server upgrade, I'm considering selling NerfSTRONG wristbands. I would like to get a preliminary idea of how much interest there is. The NerfSTRONG idea is used with permission from Groove, and a small portion of the proceeds will likely go towards Groove's nerf travel fund. Some money from sales of Apoc wristbands would go towards the cost of running apoc. Everything else would go towards the site, with at least some of it going directly back to the members in the form of contest prizes. The proposed design is below.

$5 Shipped is just an estimate right now. There may be a slight discount for buying them in person. Now that I'm looking at the cost of doing a smallish run of these, it looks like it might be closer to $5 plus shipping. They will be available for international sales if buyer pays shipping.

If enough people like the Nerf On or Fuck Off option, I'm probably just going to order a bunch of those. If most people end up wanting something else, I may do a small run of them with a slight 'obscenity tax' due to the added cost per unit of doing a smaller run of a design.

I really like the orange-on-black. The original wristbands were solid orange, but these are a little more striking and the black sometimes wears off a bit, leaving a nice 'weathered' look. I would offer some other options, but I don't want to divide everyone on colors when I haven't even gotten the text hammered out.

I would suggest coming up with something new so you can cut Groove out all together and increase the site's profits.

I like the Apoc 2013 one. You can sell them at the war and this way its a special kinda "I was there" item.... like Con-exclusive merchandise.

I wonder if these kinds of wristbands could be used to mark teams at wars? They're quite visible to other players, and would be very easy to quickly doll out at big wars when setting up teams.

Maybe they could have different colors on each side so we can easily swap what team you're on.

I don't think wristbands are going to cut it for IDing what team someone is on from across the field. I'm considering silk-screening some plain red and blue bandannas as I had originally planned for MANL and selling them in pairs, but that's a whole other thread.

I would buy one of those too. or two. or three. Would def buy a nerfstrong to support the site though.
What about getting Apoc (shortened or not) with out a date? then you can sell them every year.

Assuming these are a success, it'd be kinda neat to have a "site-apparel" section added. Wrist bands, shirts, and I think team-colored bandanna/head-band sets would be great. I personally have an orange +bow T-shirt with "Polycarbanate" in a cool font underneath that I had custom-printed, which people have asked about buying a copy of before. It'd be cool to see stuff like that in nerf-orange and nerf-green in a site-supporting-store.

Also, probably a little farther off, if the apparel part of the store were a success, maybe a homemades & ammo store? I can think of a number of quality homemade-makers who would like the exposure to new nerfers that a site-partnered store would bring. Something like Steam, where the host (NH) takes a certain % of profits. Obviously for quality's sake, only members in good standing who can display the quality of their builds, and be recommended by previous customers, would be able to sell through said-store.

For now though, as far as wristbands go, I would be most inclined to buy a NERFSTRONG wristband out of the options suggested thus far.

Nerf On or Fuck Off should be the obvious choice. I like the orange and black. The solid orange bands didn't accentuate the lettering that well.
