Hey. what will be Bad Weather Contingency. Depending on who you ask, weather.com is giving us a playable day and 6ABC is screwing us.

The cancellation policy is that there is no cancellation policy. We plan this war months in advance, and rescheduling is not an option. Unless a state of emergency is declared, I'll be at the site on Saturday morning. If hazardous conditions arise, such as lightning, we may temporarily suspend play, but this war goes on rain or shine and you should be prepared to play in moderate rain.

Edit: Subscribe to the NerfHaven.com twitter account and have notifications send to your phone via text if you don't have a smart phone. Any emergency notifications that go out on the day of the war will be posted to the twitter account as well as this thread. I will also be available via the LGLF hotline at (732) 903-5453 (732-903-LGLF) on the day of the war. I doubt any of this will be necessary and you should assume that Apoc will proceed as planned.

I've updated the round schedule and added a map. The map provides important info about parking and where to go when you arrive. Try to update your status in the poll if you were a maybe or if you have to cancel.

I've never been to a war, is their like a guide on ettiqute and stuff? Also, should I pack a vanilla blaster? And is it all right to bring a shotgun'd bbbb? It's got 6 shots.

Surviving the Apocalypse: Rules and etiquette

You can probably leave the 'vanilla' blaster at home, unless you want to mess around with it between rounds. You can bring a singled bbbb if you want, as long as the pump isn't plugged.

I'll start the post war thoughts again.

Pros:
Awesome seeing everyone.
Miguel's chicken jerky was bitchin good.
Despite the rain rounds were plentiful.
Everyone seemed to have a good time.
Glad I brought my tent since it became a small city underneath it.
Already looking forward to next year.

Cons:
Rain did suck.
Lack of second pair of sneakers. My feet hurt.
Getting shot by Shoopy at 10 feet.
Miguel running out of Jerky.
My Alpha Trooper is officially retired.

Overall this was an awesome war. You guys did a phenomenal job hosting ad running things. Langley enjoy the Gnome.

My thoughts mirror Grievers, but I'll do my own list.

Pros:
Fun rounds, and a lot of em.
Tons of fun people.
The cart got used a lot.
Canopy got used a lot.
I got my hands on more schedule 80 and thinwall PVC without paying ridiculous amounts in shipping.
The UMB I got kicks ass.

Cons:
My feet are torn up. One nail is half of, my Achilles tendon is rubbed raw, and my skin is missing a layer. (Note to self-extra socks and waterproof boots next time)
Big Blast got a leak.
Had to shoot the little kid with a UMB at extremely close range a few times in freeze tag.
Lost freeze tag four times in a row.

I guess I'll through my thoughts in there too.

Pro's
-no blaster problems
-met a lot of new people
-did pretty well performance wise
-everyone seemed to have a good time.
-saw a lot of new stuff
-played some great game types

Cons's
-during freeze tag, I got stuck in between the other team, so when my team tagged my, I was immedietly shot three feet away with a primary.
- my feet are killing me
-didn't sell as much stuff as I wanted
- and one round I got out pretty quick
-no carpe

Overall, thank you Langley, and others, who helped organize this great event, I think all of us had a great time.

I thought that this was a very fun war. I think there were more people last year, though this year was more fun (in my opinion). I thought the rain didn't mean anything but at least it wasn't hot out. Though I found myself picking up and shooting darts off the ground a lot. I was really surprised that the police came over. I also though that the game types were very well chosen and were very fun.

My spine is twisted, my face is burnt, my mouth tastes like a Pacific Rimjob, and my house is full of smelly clan t-shirts and damp socks. Man, that was a good war.

Thanks to everyone for coming out in spite of the weather, and for cooperating and keeping things moving at the pace we were trying to set. Nobody pulled any overt dick moves or unnecessary drama, and everyone was really helpful and easy to work with. Thanks to everyone who helped set up and/or run rounds including (but not limited to) TED, Koree, Dom and Wasko, Chops, my Nerf Intern Ugster, and Quixote and Panza for helping us out with that wagon. Thanks to everyone who drove from distant exotic lands (like Pittsburgh) or flew in from out of state, and to all you local people that come out of hiding for this war. Oh, and thanks to everyone who bought a bandanna! It was awesome getting to see everyone at the war wearing something I made, and I appreciate your support.

Artist's rendition of what transpired between me and Chops at the end of the day.

Oh, and screw weather.com for making think we were going to get "sctr t-storms" all day.

Another great year, as it always is. Somehow to me it felt like there were a lot less people in attendance than there were last year though, but it's not like that affected anything. I was actually quite sad it wasn't a torrential downpour at least for part of the day. I wanted it to get hardcore!

So It seems after just a little over 1000 photos I've reached my Photobucket maximum. So I guess there's no pictures.

Thanks to Langley for hosting, running, and for the excellent bandanas, and thanks to all the guys who field supervised and help run rounds, you all did a great job. I had a great time, definitely worth the drive. It was great to get to meet some of the PA and NJ guys, hopefully we'll be nerfing together again soon.

That was...wet. Very, very wet.

Pros:
-Seeing some awesome people again, and meeting others for the first time
-Freeze tag (and lots of it)
-VIP
-Nothing of mine broke, for once

Cons:
-The weather, as always
-Not having a change of shirt, shoes, or socks
-Pumpbows were not ready in time

I am still really sore from that. Definitely worth getting soaked in both rain and sweat for the experience, though. Hopefully, I'll be able to make it out there again next year, schedule permitting. I'd really rather not go through the whole "I'm going to build a whole bunch of pumpbows to fund my trip" thing again, so I need to figure out how to leave for school 2-ish weeks early next year.

Another Apoc that was completely worth the drive. I'm glad that the rain didn't hamper play as much as it was expected to.

Freeze tag was excellent, as were the speed rounds. I think our 2 second round set the record for fastest speed round NA (three shots, three hits too). Losing every single clan round must have been karma for that.

Seeing familiar faces and meeting new people was a pleasure as always.

There isn't an eloquent way to word my experience after the war, so here's a list of memorable stuff (read: stuff that I'm able to remember):

- Cards against Humanity.
- John Claude Van Damme in slow motion.
- My previously unknown love connection with Ted.
- "I thought drinking rose petals would have tasted better."
- The sudden realization that I was waist deep in the ocean with only my boxers on, surrounded by other mostly naked men.
- "There's so much dick shadow."
- Amazing Grace around the fire, dedicated to the black bar.
- The Great Whitebeard and Portal Calves
- Phil defending Hufflepuff. "Hardcore Hufflepuff!"
- "Who wants to go to Sunnydale and kill vampires?"
- "Why aren't we watching Back to the Future?"

- An offering from the LGLF to Ohio.

Posted Image

- Gnomegang.
Posted Image

Thanks again to Phil and company for being great hosts. We (Ohio) owe you for the beer, food and place to crash.

I wish I could remember the context of half of those things. I'm told I gave a stirring eulogy to the maximizer black bar as well. I remember saying the thing about Sunnydale, but I have no idea why. I'm sorry I over estimated the available couch-space, I kind of passed out without the foresight to toss some camp mats down for you guys. I was worried that we scared you off because you weren't there at 7 when I woke up. Anyway, it was great having you guys hang out after the war and you're always welcome to a patch of beer-soaked and sand-encrusted carpet whenever you're in Jersey.

I would like to thank Langley for his horse-brutality, as well as entrusting Sex Dwarves to run parts of Apoc.

I also hope everyone enjoyed playing Freeze Tag. It was nice, even though My team got completely hosed during the first set. I hope some of you are able to incorporate it into your various communities.

Anyway, Apoc 2013:

+ Sold everything I brought
+ The weather was nice(r than it could have been).
+ I only paid like $20 out of pocket for my trip.
+Got to help run more rounds this year
+ Got the A-Ok to point blank people in the kidneys.
+ Every blaster I brought broke.
+ I ran out of darts and actually had to sweep.
+ Glack glack glack glack glack glack glack glack glack glack
++++++++ After Party with the Ohioans and LGLF
+Getting initiated

And the cons:
I got minimized

For your viewing pleasure, a viking funeral for my very favorite blaster. May she rest in peace.
