Hello and welcome back to the second annual St Louis Area Nerf Event!

Location, date, and time picked! Get ready for the war!

Date: Saturday, July 13th, 2013
Time: Start is 1PM
Location: Blackburn Park, Edgar Road
Webster Groves, MO 63119

Rules-
-Gun restrictions... I will be a little more strict this time around. If I think it is too powerful, it will be banned.
-Bows and arrows allowed on a case by case basis and not for every game type.
-Nada on the singled Titans/whatever.
-Darts, slugs only and McMaster-Carr part#8771K12 felt tip or softer... NO GLUE TIPS
-Manta or smaller on shields, for regular games. Official Nerf blaster shields allowed (IE Stampede).
-NO black only guns or camo or full face masks.
-Barrel taps are fine, don't over do it.
-Eye protection recommended, required if under 18.
-Most important, don't be a jerk.

Match Types-
-MeatGrinder
-Deathmatch/Team Deathmatch
-Capture The Flag/Bomb
-Gunslinger
-Freeze Tag
-Territories (possibly)
-HvZ (possibly)

Lunch-
-Eat it before hand. I would recommend bringing a snack plus water.

Alcohol or Drugs-
- Ah, no.

Items to Bring-
-Water (There is a drinking fountain close by)
-Sunscreen
-Lunch
-At least one primary and one pistol
-SLUGS or stock darts(I'd say 50-100)
-Things for trade
-A friend and a friendly attitude

Just requested off work, if I cannot get off I wont be able to go, so hopefully that isn't the case. What do you guys put the reason for. Requesting off? Not sure if I would be granted the dY off for writing "Nerf War".

Regarding trades, I'm looking to buy enough brass for an angel breech, so if anyone has extra brass please lug it with you and I may buy it.

I just recently started getting back into nerf. I used to play with my neighbor and other friends all the time, and now wish id saved my old blasters. Im building/modding some guns so ill have something to shoot. Im planning on attending unless some other important issue comes up.

This is coming along great! So far it looks like we have a guaranteed 11 people going, with at best a possible showing around 16-18 coming.

I am the opposite. I haven't made a single slug yet. Theres a chance Im going to have to borrow or buy slugs when I get there, will there be anyone selling, or any community darts?

Today I found 3 nitefinders and a big blast at the local resale shop. They were all hiding in the back of other shelves and not in the box of dart guns where they should have been. Really glad I took the extra time to search the shelves or I would have left with nothing. Id still really like to get a longshot before the war.

I had a blast today, and I'm glad the war ran successfully and actually happened this year.

The Not-So-Awful Awfuls round was definitely my favorite. I got pummeled using my FastBlast, so I guess that means I win? Mindlord had some crazy three round burst rocket launcher he used, and it was probably the worst blaster I've ever seen. I also got to fire off my Original Nerf Slingshot!!!!!11!1

I had the most fun in the first three rounds; Deathmatch, Pistols, and Awfuls. After those everything started slowing down, and I absolutely sucked at CTF. I'm glad everyone liked my Titre, even though it didn't perform to my expectations in battle.

I was surprised how little Slugs hurt. There's so much talk about safe dart methods, but there was only one or two instances where people got hit too hard today. I got shot maybe ten times and felt nothing. Shot a couple up close with my 4B and they barely felt it.

Highlights:
(+)The war actually happening, and perfect weather.
(+)Getting to fire off an Ultimator, the kick was insane.
(+)Watching azrael do more damage with an RSCB than anyone using a hopper.
(+)Everything about Awfuls, particularly Matt's seven swords. Wasn't big on the use of Roughcuts and Magstrikes.
(++)Rushing while duel wielding some RapidFire 20's.
(-)Losing our flag after my RF 20's ran out of ammo.
(+)Sold some stuff, and got a good deal on a Titan.

Things to work on:
-Keeping rounds more organized; it was tough figuring out who was tagged or eliminated.
-Keeping rounds moving. We only got 5 or 6 rounds done in three hours due to over dickwaving of blasters (I was a big contributor to this too, not calling anyone out).
-A bit more regulation on blasters. Magstrikes were way too good for Awfuls.

It was great to meet all of you, and keep in touch while I look into a follow up war.

In agreement with Shanaynay, I had an an awesome time at SLANE 2 today, I definitely hope to see more Missouri wars on the forums and will look out for them. I think that the rounds could have been a bit more organized do to everyone just talking for 30 minutes in between rounds and also have a little more diversity of game types, but I still had a ton of fun and thank the coordinators for the pretty great war.

Thanks ShaNayNay. I had a TON of fun, and hearing that after my first war makes it even better. I got a couple good blasters to mod (which I spent the rest of the day modding). I cant't wait for some more foam flailing fun.
