I should have specified that I'm looking for something that's under $10 per sheet because that's what homedepot sells it for. And I also seek pieces that 36" by 48". This stuff is tough to find for cheap...

Lolwut.....

I would check your local high school, or tech school, as they occasionally have their sheet metal for welding classes etc donated. I know our school has all sorts of sizes and gauges of sheet metal donated by our local steel company, and its free for us. The only Steel we have to pay for is angle iron and tubing.

Yeah, my shop teacher told me he get's it from a local tool and die company for next to nothing. He said that shops like that love to donate to help people get into the trade.

Unless you live in a semi-rural area you might have better luck looking for a sheet metal distributor (Google "[your town] sheet metal distributor")close to where ever you live. While you probably wouldn't have any problem finding an online vendor - why pay shipping on such a bulky item?

I was surprised to find a plastic vendor in my neck of the woods - but not until I looked.
