Hi guys, this is my first post, so I hope I put it in the right forum and stuff.

So I was wondering, if I bought a retaliator, for example, would the elite darts it came with be the exact same darts as the ones I would buy separately in an elite dart reload "kit"? This is opposed to the darts that it comes with being slightly different to go better with the retaliator. Is this also true for clips, and any blaster I would buy?

Wha?? The darts are designed to work with ALL Elite Blasters, and the clip are universal to any clip fed Elite blaster. That is the freaking point of them.

If you buy an elite series blaster, such as the Retaliator. The darts it comes with are the same as the ones from the elite dart reload kits. This is true unless other wise marked or you buy an Elite Rayven, in which case the darts from the reload "kits" will not glow. To get darts like that you'd have to buy the elite "glow in the dark" refill "clips". However performance wise they should do roughly the same. This is the same for all clip systems blasters in the elite series to my knowledge. (limited though it may be)

Needless to say, all the elite darts should function more or less the same. Minor differences will only occur if you buy something for cosmetic reasons such as the camo darts, glow in the dark darts, or just the normal elite darts. All will fly roughly the same, just they will be different colors and one glows when used in the light up Rayven clip.

Ok I knew that all the clips and darts were supposed to work together but I was just wondering that for some reason maybe darts or clips that come with a blaster would be designed a little differently. Thank you for clarifying though!

The Elite darts are all pretty much the same. Comparing darts received in a retaliator to say, a triad, the only noticeable difference is the code on the dart (K code and W code respectively).

But the code can actually make a difference. I'm not sure about elites, but back in the day, HvZers in particular would go out of their way to get W-code streamlines because they were better than the other codes.

So has anyone tested the different codes of elite darts yet? My rampage came with K darts, and you get J darts from extra dart packs. Which code is best for accuracy and range (I've only tested the K darts)?

TL;DR: for elite darts, W code is still probably the best, then J, K, and A, in that order.

Their is a case of reload pack Buzz Bee darts not being the same as ones in a blasters packaging.
The darts that are packaged with the Range Master were stiffer and have a heavier tip than normal darts.

I find that darts packaged with 2012 early release (summer of 2012) elite products (refill packs, blasters and "mission kits") are stiffer than current darts.

From my experience the letters mean jack shit! Ive had different letters and I have seen no difference

The codes mean different production run/factory/material supplier/whatever. The differences (according to the HvZ board) seem to be primarily the density of the foam, slight changes in diameter, and how "sticky" or "tacky" the tip is, affecting how often they jam in magazines. The problem with lower quality foam is that it is more likely to deform in magazines or be deformed when found scavenging, leading to misfires/crunching of darts, especially at the higher rates of fire that many HvZers use. Obviously different production runs will have variations, but there will be variations within a single run as well. The bigger question is whether there is any actual discernible difference, i.e. if the difference are statistically significant in a blind randomized study.

My hunch is that this is all voodoo made up by people looking for patterns where none are found, being fooled by randomness.

A lot of the typical streamlines are quite similar, but the "W" codes really stand out just because they're made of fatter, more durable foam. For most of the folks on this forum it's irrelevant, but if you're using a stock mag-fed blaster in HvZ it really does. They don't jam, and they fire much further since they're a better fit in the stock barrels.

Stick a straw inside the dart, cut it to length, and put a little dot of glue on the end of the straw and insert it again.

And that works on elite darts?
I just coat the dart with hair spray. It gives me a nice, stiff, jam-resistant dart that lasts for about two months.
