Seeing as how 3DBBQ's barrel design worked flawlessly on all of my airpowered guns, I attempted to put it on my MaxShot. It works just fine, but decreased the range significantly -due to the fact that there was too much extra air being pushed out too slowely because it is a plunger gun. It wasnt a total failure, and I knew that there could be a middle ground to KEEP the amazing range of the telecoping brass mod, while combinding at LEAST the easy-loading aspects of the MnM's mini caps, since the 3DBBQ clip'ish barrel-thang wasnt gonna workout. I decided on the following design: (if it doesnt show -copy/paste)

This creates very LITTLE extra air having to be shot from within the pvc/couplers, so that the telescoping brass' range should maintain untouched, while you still have the WAY easier loading capabilities of the MnM's mini wonderfulness! Its way more practical in a war than taking off the barrel. One worry MIGHT be, since the darts are held way more firmly in telecoping brass than say, PETG, than the MnM's cap might burst open instead of the dart being shot, but we'll see! If this works, it would also work superbly on any BBB, Crossbow, EAB, or any gun of that nature. I will build it this coming week and report back. Comments?

I don't like it.

The point of using a 3DBBQ M&M's cap loading style is to get multiple shots with no reload. If you have to manually reload each shot, you'd might as well work on a more air-efficient bolt-action device. Still, I hope it works for you.

this is untrue, he enicially made it just for easy reloading of one dart at first, and then later realized what he could do with multishots. It would take much less time then taking out the whole barrel, putting the dart in, and replacing the barrel, and is much lighter and more acessable to make than some interacit bolt action device, not that a bolt action system wouldnt work wonderfully, its just this is more conveniant and quick, just how I like things  I'll let you know how it works...

im almost done peicing it together, only problem is that, if I have the barrle going striaght up and out like i show in my drawing, its gonna endup hitting the cocking lever! I may epoxy it going sideways so the barrel is slightely out to one side, and then use the gun by turning it on its side so the barrel is right-sideup! lol its, a project so we'll see. If i can get about the SAME range as a cxwq telescoping brass modded one, but can load it 3x faster, I will be content no matter how I have to hold the gun :)

Well I did it, and am getting a solid consistant 80-95 feet off it i'de say, which isnt AS fabulous as Kevins straight forward nested brass mod, but it is quite easier to load. Ill get pictures up soon.

here are pics, big thanks to Kevin for hosting! Keep in mind this gun is shot on its side so the barrel is UP gangsta style (like pic 2), its quite accurate, no range loss and very quick on the reload! check it out:

on any other high powered spring gun, this system could just be used right side up apposed to off to the side of course, and is quite practical.

It original. Personally I like my barrel straight, but some people swing the other way.
^_^
No, really though. I like what you've done. The Max Shot is notorious for it's slow ROF, but if this improves it, it may be worth it. It's hard to tell about aiming it, though. I guess you have to hold it.

yeah it looks awkward but it isnt, and the system wouldnt be on other spring guns, the lever's just in the way! . Its quite comfy really. you know how gangsters hold their guns sideways to shoot? all OG style? You hold it like that so that the barrel IS ontop and then its just like aiming a normal gun. It always gives less kick cause your holding the gun on both sides apposed to just 2 hands on the bottom so the kick is minimal. I guess you really would have to see/hold it to really get it, oh well.

The main thing I'm hesitant about is the fact that this device seems only suitable for high-volume blasters capable of overcoming the buffer zone created by the elbow coupler. I consider it about a half-step up from a cxwq style Max Shot breech loading system, because it is less air-efficient but allows quicker reload. I really like the direction you're moving in, though. Keep up the good work.

yeah, the elbow peice does add a bit of extra air to be pushed out of the gun. the way I think about it is, if you take the area of air in the PVC elbow, its what, the same as adding a couple more inches to the end of the barrel... maybe that doesnt workout but it makes me feel better eh? Astonishingly there really is quite little range loss.
