So you'll need some basic crap for this
Including the usual
- size 1 to 0 screw drivers of the Phillips variety.
-dremel with cutting or sanding bit.
- cutting pliers ( not required, but I used em)

OPTIONAL
- L00000000000000b (silicone, lithium grease etc)
- epoxy or solvent ( for sealing the air release hole)

To start off, I chose not to remove my air restrictors. I think the blaster out performs the darts, and the ranges it gets for a pistol are just fine to me.
BUT if you wish to do so, and are unsure of that process there's a great write up RIGHT HERE., but I highly recommend Coop's (Coop772 on youtube) video tutorial, as he explains some things, and has some great nuggets (hehe) of information in his video. In all seriousness, check them both out before you do the removal, and decide which you prefer after you viewed them.

MOVING ON.

Take your blaster apart, butterfly it open
Posted Image

Take off your priming handle first and hold this orange priming indicator down while you open the shell as there's a pesky spring underneath that lies to pop out.
Posted Image

First thing I'm removing is the turret lock. This prevents the blaster from being fired without the turret in place. There's really no need to remove it, but I friggin hate locks.

Now pop out your turret
The front piece you used to have to pry off on the maverick just pops off. Remove these two nubs..
Posted Image

I cut as much off with the pliers first, then sanded it with the dremel and finsished it off with some 220 and 400 grit so it's nice and smooth

Lookin good!
Posted Image

This would be the point where you-
a) remove your AR
B) seal your air release hole
And C) relive your O ring.

Now put your catch back in and put you catch spring in like this, it's much easier then trying to wedge it in and hope it stays.

Put your return spring back on if you took it out.
Posted Image

Remove your dart pegs, Yeah mines sloppy, I did it with pliers, and don't mind if its sloppy as of now. I'll go back with a dremel and clean it up
Posted Image

It should now look like this!

A front view to show the extended drop

Not really necessary but here it is with no safety

And the rear again

And hasbros crappy painting skills

I'll have a video up on my youtube channel reviewing the blaster, not that it hasn't been done yet, and of the modifications I did.

Comments?

Awesome. Make it rear loading, and you've got yourself a beast. How many more barrels are exposed, if any? Does removing that one lock allow you to drop the cylinder then prime?

I was considering making it rear loading, but I prefer it to be front loading as none of the barrels are exposed when the turret is in place in the blaster anyways. And it's one more exposed then originally. And removing the lock allows you to fire the blaster while the turret is out. There's really no point in taking it out, I just hate locks.

So it allows you to prime the blaster while the turret is down, as well as prime, then drop the turret then fire while the turret is down? I hate locks too.

I think you said the same thing twice but yes. You can prime the blaster, put the turret down and fire, or put the turret down, prime and fire. Or the following actions in any order you schoose.

Give this thread a reasonable title please, so that people searching for StrongArm know what to expect

nice! Does the turret drop mod make it any easier to reload? Is it any harder to lock the turret back into firing position?

I also removed the pegs this way, and did not remove the ar. It ruined my ranges due to the ar needing the base of the peg to operate correctly. Did you find a way around that problem?

Well you have an extra chamber avaliable so you don't have to rotate the turret as much, and if you wanted to you could make it rear loading.

And no you just push it in like normal, maybe a little more snap when you put it in, but it's not like you have to force it.

I have not had any experience with this problem. Try filling the end of a straw with hot glue and then putting it in your dart. I'm not sure what it would do to dart wobble while flying through the air, but it would give the AR something to push on. Or follow the suggested links at the top of the page and just remove your AR.

EDIT: your dart post actually wouldn't contact the AR anyways, as shown in this picture, just imagine the bar going across.

Why can't I see any photo you posted here via photobucket? I'd really like to see your job, but on photobucket it says "forbidden"

Unfortunately Photobucket broke a lot of links to pictures in the years since this has been posted, so a lot of mod guides no longer have pictures.
