one last time, mods, feel free to delete this, or let it live for a few days and then delete. I understand either way

Even though I just joined, I still knew who you were due to my months of lurking and browsing. You're the guy who had his arm in a sling in the Modifications and Paintjob Pictures Thread. (I also remember your old signature. It was about how you want to go to hell.) It's good to have you and Ice back again.

It's crazy. I've had my guns in a bin for like, years now. I got a few out, and it was just like second nature, opened them up, tuned them up in only a few hours, and they still fire like a nail driver.Been scanning the forums over the past week or so...attempted modding a rough-cut but it's been a good 2 years since I've touched a screwdriver so things went...poorly. Still no nerf scene in western Canada it looks like. Good to see a few names from back in the day.
I'm trying to make 2013 a big come back year. wait and see.

Heh I'm sure if It was a night finder or long shot I couldve worked wonders on it but these new blasters are pretty complex. Hasbro is starting to out engineer us!

I've got about one more year here before I can retire. Cannot wait for that day to come.
Meaning retire from the NIC?

Why do you have to wait a year, and why do you want to "retire".

With everything comes an expiration date. I have accepted that my time is coming to an end, and instead of trying to stay relevant when it's obviously over for me I plan on gracefully bowing out. Nothing is more sad then someone working so hard to reach the highs they once had, never coming close, turning themselves into a joke for everyone around them. Oblivious to what they are doing. God has granted us a short stay on this great Earth and I will not waste the precious moments I still have treading water.

You should go to wars every now and then after you retire just for fun. With everything comes an expiration date. Feels aside I've attributed our current downturn in nerfer activity to the greater situation we currently face; a recession. Kids have to grow up faster, teens have to study harder and adults have to work longer to make due, let alone take time aside from that for hobbies like this one. I haven't really looked at any other sources but that's my hypothesis concerning what we're going through currently. It 'sounds right' to me but I'm curious what other people think. What is the cause for our current standing?

Man, I think about how much time has passed and how many people have come and gone in this hobby and it makes me feel feels.

Bit of a miserable git you aren't you?
As for retiring? Never. This hobby is far too fun to retire from. Out of most of my hobbies, this is the least expensive and most enjoyable. And I don't see me giving that up any time soon.

FA_24 is pretty much retired, Hell before Halloween was the last war he will host, unless something spectacular happens in the GTA. The scene in Canada is pretty much dead, out native site went down late last year and nobody really cares enough to do anything about it, going several weeks without a new post will do that though.
Pearson MIGHT host V7 later this april. The native site is back online but destroyed by tasmanian and kazachstani spammers/scammers. I can't remember where I found it, but the site's name is changed to its IP address and the "Canadian nerfing modified" banner is completely gone. The scene in Canada will live on. Come on man, get on it and host K.I.N.G II. We are proud Canadians, and we will keep the nerf scene up if we have to hold it up manually.

Good to hear about Pearson, however what you are referring to as the native site was actually closed 2 years ago but never deleted by Forumer, when they got taken over by this new site they reopened it for whatever reason, stripped mods of any power, and basically turned it into a giant heap of garbage, I have been actively trying to get it deleted since this change came about. And I will be posting a thread for a war once I get a better idea when the snow will be gone.
