Does anyone know of any good (for stock level wars) blasters that can be operated and reloaded with only one hand, I am working on setting a friend up with a HvZ blaster. Unfortunately he only has one hand but still has full use of both arms so holding guns under the arm for reloading works. From what I have heard the Strongarm can be operated with one hand but swinging out the turret and putting it under your arm sounds awkward but usable. Any ideas?

The strongarm was a good idea because you can prime it on your clothing. You can slide the priming mech against your pants or shirt, and it will catch somewhere. I am not sure about reloading, as I always use two hands. But I am sure it is do-able, as it was with the maverick.

Have you thought about semi-auto blasters such as the Stryfe or Rayven. Especially with the Stryfe its clip release can all be done one handed, He could then have the blaster on a sling to put a new clip in with his working arm. Or he could just be like JLego.

I would suggest the Stryfe as well. The clip release is in front of the handle. It's about the size of a large pistol. the only pain would be getting the clips. But if you hook him up with a Drum or 18 round clips. it will extend the reload times.

Also the Strongarm can not be one hand opened like the Maverick or Spectre. Thanks to the A/R in the plunger assembly it pushes the cylinder release too far forward. Trust me I was able to do it with both blasters and I can not on Strongarm (shameless plug, forgive me, I show it on my Strongarm review....)

But back on subject... A Stryfe with 18 round clips or the Raider Drum would probably work out best.

Griever 2112 still plays with his alpha trooper quite often despite owning one of the scariest +bows.

Step 1 to 'just be[ing] like Jlego'
Be totally awesome. Possibly try growing a chinstrap beard and take some bartending classes.

Step 2
Instead of finding a gun that can be primed with one hand, find a gun that you can prime with your wrist or stump or whatever it is you have.

JLego doesn't have an elbow joint, and he is able to sweep his left arm across his chest and cock a plusbow or a crossbow with his stump. This is maybe not an optimal setup for HvZ, but the point is that you can cock almost anything without a hand if you just make the cocking handle easy to manipulate with your off-arm. I've seen JLego fire a pump action shotgun with a little polycarb tab on the pump handle to give him or surface to press against. I've also seen him fire an arrowstorm with no ergonomic improvements, but I swear he uses some kind of wizard magic for that.

Tucking the blaster under your arm is going to be important for reloading, so get something that isn't too clunky and doesn't need to be reloaded often and practice with it. The Rayven is not a bad idea, but with a few improvements pretty much any springer can be made easier to cock with your arm. Don't get to bogged down with 'one hand primable blasters' as they almost universally suck compared to just slapping your arm across the cocking handle of a decent springer.

Stryfe, Rayven, trustfires, done.
I used a rayven at an nic war once, and it did considerably well do too the fact that it can fire more darts than anything else on the field.

A down side for the Rayven is that it's hard to press the clip release with 1 hand opposed to the Stryfe's being right in front of your hand.
As for reloading the clip fed blasters, have a 18 round mag and have it in a pouch or have it in your pocket and reload by putting your blaster down to your waist and inserting the clip while it is still in your pocket and pull up and the clip comes out of your pocket/pouch and your ready to fire! It's kinda hard to explain, I'll put a picture.

The Stryfe is a great HvZ blaster full stop. Shoots fast, shoots far enough for HvZ and takes mags for a quick reload. It's also light and compact so it won't tire your hand. Another thing that may come in handy as a backup would be the Dart Tag Snapfire. 8 shots semi auto, but it would be awkward as anything to reload without tucking it under his arm. This is honestly a hard one, but I reckon you should be fine to use a Stryfe with a 35 drum for minimal reloads, a few spare 18 mags and a Snapfire with a small pouch of loose darts. It's not gonna be the greatest system possible, but if it lets someone with such a disability play HvZ, I reckon it's gold.

Id reccomend the stryfe like the others did, and say use a mag holder that has the clip sticking out so that he can just slam the stryfe over it to attach a new clip. OR, make a pistol sized vulcan with 50-100 round belt lol.

on a side note, please tell your friend it is remarkable and inspiring to hear of him having such a disability and yet still tryna have some pure, nerfy fun. Its really got me a bit teary..

If you use the Stryfe with the drum, I recommend taking out the dart lock. There's a lock inside of it that prevents the blaster from firing if there is not a dart in the clip. However, with my 35 dart raider drum, the drum does not exert enough pressure to make the lock actuates every time. I ended up taking it out and now the drum works perfectly.

It could be possible to install a forced opening spring on Mavs, Spectres or Strongarms, just a light torsion spring that holds the cylinder open. The Mav and the Strongarm have loops at the back of the blaster, so it is possible to make so sort of harness to prime the blaster one-handed. Then, the user could place the blaster between his arm and chest, and load with his hand. XXX's idea with the stick mags in pockets is a good idea, and the user could also make a belt rig with multiple mags in it. One thing I don't like about the Stryfe is the heel release, which makes it hard to operate with the trigger hand. I think a Praxis or a Pyragon might be better, even with the pump action, as the mag release is a thumb-operated deal. The tubular stick-mags might be harder to pocket, but you could use a belt for that purpose.
