After modding my stampede, I ran into the issue of the breech not moving the whole way forward. I can push the breech forward to the point of it firing then it will return to the starting point. The mods that I have done are: AR removed, OMW spring, lock removal, and 18v of power. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have had a similar problem with my Nerf Vulcan. Try taking it apart again and making sure that all the parts are seated correctly, and if that doesn't work, try putting the original spring back in and seeing whether it works or not. Lubricating the internals with silicone or lithium grease also helps. If none of this works, then you may have broken something in it. Also, pictures are greatly appreciated in threads such as these.

Maybe the gears that move it are stripped. How strong is the OMW spring? Did you have it in a different power level before you went to 18 volts with the same OMW spring? Like DartSlinger said, try putting the original spring back and check if it works then. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Does the breech move forward, but not enough, then snap backward ?
And repeats this motion when the trigger is pulled ?

Hammy, the breech does move forward but not the whole way. I can push it the rest of the way and then it will half cycle again if I continues to hold the trigger.

DartSlinger, I will try to get pics up tonight.

therealnerfjunkies, it is the strongest one but I will try to look at the gears this week.(school sucks)

Thanks everyone for the help, If anyone else has any suggestions please respond as well.

Did you use 9v batteries? I did and the problem I found out is that you have to run them series. And if you did that I also found out that leaving the batteries connected in series will short out the batteries. So ALWAYS unconnect at least 1 battery.

I used 12 AAs in series, I know it's a waste but I don't have any trustfires yet.

Ok, take them out then put new ones in. I had trouble with my stampede rejecting certain batteries for some reason. But don't leave the batteries in while it's not in use because it will short out and drain that batteries.

I checked it this morning and it was about 2v for 12 batteries.

So they were dead?

I run into this problem with a full charge, but Zorn when you say "there's your problem," do you mean the amount of batteries or the voltage?

I suspect that its not a voltage problem but that AAs don't supply enough current at that voltage (aka power) to get the motors working. You could try three sets of 12-AA arrays in parallel, but I think you should really just wait on a real power supply.

Try going back to the stock spring and seeing if it is a power-to-motors issue or if there's actually a mechanical problem with the system.

Remember, AAs were designed for low drain consumer electronics like TV remote controls and wall clocks.

The voltage would be a good thing to tinker with, but you may have a problem I had with one of my stampedes.
I'd try taking it apart, and examining the catch mec carefully.
I had a problem once, where a spring had dislodged near the catch, so when the gun tried too fire, the entire plunger would move forward about 75% of the way, and then it would go back into it's original position.
The catch wasn't actually engaging, so when it moved forward, it was taking the plunger plunger rod with it.
The reason I think you may have this problem is that you said that you can move it forward with your finger.
I'd check to see if the plunger is taking the rod with it.

Good luck, let me know how it works out.

I had that problem too. I ended up opening the blaster and dumbass myself put the plunger rod in upside down before. So check that too.

There are no catch issues because when I push the catch the full way forward it will then fire. Zorn, you are right I think, so I'm going to order some trustfires this week and try it out with them, but where should I get them from?

Yeah sorry, it will fire but not cycle so it probably is a voltage thing
