A while ago I picked up a Firefly from Goodwill. I opened it up to lube it, realized I didn't have any lube, and I threw it in a bag for later. Now it's later and all but two of the screws for the case are gone. Does anyone know what size screws it uses?

Take the screws you do have to Lowes, and find some that are the same. You could also measure them, and order some from mcmaster which have the same dimensions.

If you have a stash of screws, or screws left over from other projects, try easing some of them in to see if them tighten up. A lot of my blasters have screws from other stuff and they hold together just fine.

From my experience nerf only uses two types of screws... big head ones and small head ones. The big ones don't go in small screw holes because the head doesn't fit, but I think that the screw threads themselves are very similar in size. If you have nite finders laying around, consider minimizing them or removing the screws that hold the lasers. You can get around seven screws or so and with careful placement you can get a solid Firefly shell. Plus, buying screws is not very cheap.

I think Ls screws are the same size.
Also, I know dtg screws have the same measurements as Ls screws...
If you have any screws laying around, chances are they fit.
Good luck.

I would, for your first projects, keep all but a few insignificant screws in your blaster and store them in a small bin. Then, when you have screws missing, your can refer to you stash and replace them. I did this and now have roughly 500.

Ask for self tapping screws for plastic when you go to the hardware store. If your local hardware store does not have the screws you need (because mine does not), do what everyone has been saying. If your not hot on killing a good blaster, try going to a thrift store like goodwill and buying a cheap gun for something like $2 and stealing the screws from that. If they don't have one here are some links to screws you can use from McMaster-Carr. You’ll get plenty of screws in case you loose some latter.

I'd like to take a moment and say that I have a Firefly in front of me as I type this. Aside from the two screws on the priming slide, which are indeed the "standard" size of screw, all of the screws on the body of the blaster are all a large-head type screw. HOWEVER: they also have thicker shafts than "standard" size screws. You will NOT be able to use "standard" size screws on this blaster.

The firefly screw mounts are plastic. Find screws with acceptable major diameter (pick the one with lower thread count if you have a choice between many) and just screw them in; you don't need special self-tapping screws for a few millimeters of ABS.
