Where:
Cullen Elementary School
440 N. Live Oak Ave
Glendora, CA 91741

Ole Hammer Park
440 Right Next Door Blvd.
Glendora, CA 91741

When: July 6th 9:30 am - 4:30ish pm

The standard SoCal rules apply for eye protection and banned blasters
what that means is eye protection is Required for all players, even those over 18. if you are spotted without eye protection I will make you go and get some or you can sit out for the round.
also the following are not allowed on the playing field pending my approval: Blasters painted black, singled titans or 5ks, homemade airguns, pump replaced 4bs, other homemades excluding plusbows, snaps, or unholy 3 style homemades (pacs, rainbows, aabows, etc.). If you are not sure about your blaster pm me. If your blaster is painted black it will be covered with bright marking tape. Also if I feel that a blaster is shooting too hard I may ask you to play with something else so bring backup blasters.

Housing is also something we local guys usually don't mind doing so if you are coming from out of town and need a place to stay speak up about it here or book a hotel room.

Many questions have been asked about blasters and darts. Here is your answer.

If your blaster is not on the ban list and has been allowed at wars with no special rules then bring it pending approval.

If your blaster is not on the ban list and has been banned and other wars don't bring it.

If your blaster is sketchy about safe performance you may bring for approval, but bring a blaster that is within safe standards for back-up.

Legal dart options include:
glue domes, slugs, vans, amiors, putty wraps, and silicone heads

No "sub-optimal" or "super" domes

No exposed metal

No discussion on dart acceptability. If you don't like it then don't show up.

These rules are final pending my decision to change it.

Any questions post here or pm me.

This will be in the summertime probably July-ish as it always has.

Thank you SO much for posting this now! My dad always decides when to have the family camping trip in January. We go in July. One question: When will dates be decided? 6th, 13th, 23rd, or 27th? If those are the dates, then I can make it to all of those, although 27th probably will not be the best. I may also be able to provide a bunch of AMIORS. As many as I can make with 100 feet of foam.

That was fast.

I'd REALLY like it to be on the 6th, since that's my 18th birthday, and it would be pretty cool to have a 'Geddon on my 18th birthday.

This is great that 'Geddon is getting planned so early this year. I'd like to request boarding with SCUN because the majority of the CVN clan would like to come down this year for the carnage.

I'm as "in" as someone who has no clue what he'll be doing with his life in the next 2 weeks, much less 5-6 months, can be. Herrrrp.

Protip: The more people you're bringing the harder it is for local guys to provide hosting. Also considering the shrinking number of active SCUNites living in the Glendora area isn't going to help either. I'll assume my Grandparent's house will be booked with my own people again, but like I was saying, I have no clue what I'll be doing in late June-July yet, so we'll see.

Well this is great, I have no idea if I can make this as I found out a few days ago my dad has a brain tumor and I may be moving to Canada at the start of June.

That being said Ill try to make this even if I have to fly in. Ill think of something.

I will be there, with a likely +1. Is Cullen Elementary the same school as 2010 Geddon? I do not really remember the names, and I am not a local. If so, the place is great for nerf. Excited either way.

I've been off the grid for a while so it's been hard to keep track of things. I will be there if it makes the window between the Youth group's high school camp and my trip to Kenya on the 30th. I was able to do it last year, but just barely. Fingers crossed.

Yo. I'm a little out of the loop as far as SoCal wars go, but what exactly do you mean by "super" and "sub-optimal" domes? More importantly, 1/4" slingshot ammo and hot glue domes, yea or nay?

Google Maps tells me it'd be about 7 hours to Glendora, so I'm not saying I've got a good chance of going, but if my schedule's open and I can scrounge up some gas and possibly hotel money I'd love to go.

EDIT: Thanks roboman. For the record I don't do any fancy BS with my darts except to glue the weight in before doming it.

Basically, a super dome is ridiculously aerodynamic and, according to our standards, shoots too far and hard compared to other glue dome types. The tip is effectively a perfect hemisphere surrounding the weight.

I think I'm confusing sub-optimal domes with something else, so I'll leave that to someone else.

I think a sub-optimal dome is when it is when the hotglue is dried not like a dome, but to be pointy and bullet-like. That is what I think, though. I am not completely sure.
Also, when are the possible dates? My dad needs to schedule camping dates and we go in July so I want to decide so that this doesn't interfere me going camping.

If you want to read up on "sub-optimal" domes and SCUN's stance on them check out last years 'gedden topic.

Also looks like I'm flying in for this one.

Look, you guys. I don't know why you started this topic two months ago. There clearly isn't war planning here; some people have said that some dates worked, and no one planning the war has made a commitment or even indicated a preference for one of those dates. It seems like you put this topic up for something along the lines of "dibs" and felt it would be cool to leave it sitting around until April or May when you would actually try starting it up.

I'll just put it this way: If you don't have a productive discussion about the date of this war in the next week, I'm closing this topic and any that follow until there is a choice of two Saturdays for the war.

If I'm not doing research somewhere else during the summer I'll probably be there though! Part of the problem!

Melee is generally okay. Don't bring anything thicker than a pool noodle or longer than 4 feet. If you are not sure, send me a pm with a picture of you holding it.

The poll for the date is now up.

Both of those are too large. We base our standards off the MASHOONGA! which are roughly 3 - 3.5 feet long, and have the diameter of a pool noodle (about 3ish inches).

Nothing larger than that.

Mashoonga Measurements Edit: The foam section is 28" long with a 2.5" diameter, and the handle is 7" long.
