I opened her up and removed the four sided barrel.Next I got a peice of copper tubeing and placed it on the air pipe. This is a very easy mod and takes about 5 minutes. It shoots about an average of 100'.

Or a smack upside the head.

Why would you ruin the Supermaxx 1500's great rof?

THEeng...I was hoping you wouldn't spoil what everyone else was thinking..heehee. OK, now that he understands what I meant, I'll go full throttle. If you've seen my poll on Fav. Gun Attribute in the General Nerf section, you'll notice most people like accuracy, and the EXPERIENCED people say ROF goes right after that. The supermaxx 1500 is a great gun in that it has excellent range, plus 4 shots. You can get an average of 90 feet with four barrels. Oh wait..hang on..100-90=10. You lose 10 feet, dangit! But wait, there's more! If you stick with 4 barrels, you can get off 4 shots instead of 1. So technically...you get 90X4=360 feet. In less then 15-20 seconds. 360-100=260, so therefore you get a greater advantage in keeping it in four barrels.
Oh, but actually there is a plus side to singling your 1500. If you've got a different gun that you want to keep as your primary gun (say the airtech3000), and you have no use for the supermaxx1500, then if you want you can single it to keep as a sidearm with range for its advantage. However, this is tough to holster. It looks to me that as of right now, the 1500 is your primary. I'd stick with four barrels.

Air, school is over- no more math. Even though both you and I will be forced to do it anyways, I don't want to be reminded of it. Eh, anyways, with his description, you could probably reverse the mod at any time. Also, if you really wanted to single barrel a multi-barreled weapon, I'd suggest the at2k- it's smaller than the sm1500, and gets nice ranges single barreled. Anyways, interesting thought atorba.

Ok the only reason that i had to do this mod is because 1.i couldnt find the right stefens of nerf bullets anywhere.2.I really needed a loser weapon and it is a great one with its dead aim am speed. I placed a crayola on top of it to 1.Store a bullet,Or 2.use it as a scope.

4 barrels makes the gun top heavy,, and it REALLY doesnt take that long to load a single barrel. they are both highly functional mods.

Okay, my single barrelled 1500 (once I get it operational again) is by far the best gun and really only gun I function with. I singled it because if you stay with one person, you can have that person fend off people while you reload, making the buddy system functional. And if you don't have anyone, then you can use the added range (albeit it's not much of a difference) and accuracy to take people out, if you've got good aim.

The biggest problem I see was he used copper. Ewww...

Unless it somehow fits your FBR better than brass. So whatever laces your crack... (courtesy of Nello)

Like I said, more power to ya if you needed the loser. Ah..first, the sight.

We've had a thread about that somewhere here, and the conclusion was that nerf guns don't need sights when shooting nerf foam darts. However, as far as dart storing goes, check this out. On my old version sm1500, where the top green thing goes, I took that part out and cut a crapload of 1/2" length brass tubing. I glued those on top of the sm1500 and used those as ammo holders. But..I made sure they were glued in a perfectly straight line so that I could use it for close-range aiming. It worked very well, but I decided it was too cumbersome and took it off. But - it worked well, if you want to do it.

Second, I forgot to add the time factor in my little equation, but whatever, it gets too complex, but you get the pic.

Lastly though, I forgot to add this on my last post: I commend your experimenting, and that would be a plus towards you. However....I have no idea why you would post the fact that you finished singling a sm1500... :w00t:

Ahem, Air, before you start ripping on my sights, they are there for cosmetic reasons only... and they work up to like 40-50 feet. Anyways, maybe he just felt like posting it; I mean, if I had a super-powered gun and it worked well, why not post it? Besides, I haven't found many, if any single barreled sm1500 mods on the net. I mean, sure it's easy and simple, but I don't recall any specific instructions. I have found pictures though. Anyways, Air, we gotta pick those guns up from Prism- I call the SSII as usual.

I like the gun either way. I can change my barrel assembly from the four to one in a moments notice (well okay, about 5 minutes, schmucks) I do beleive that the single barrel gets improved accoruacy and range as well as being a helluva lot smaller. But as airapache said, if it's your primary, keep it with four barrels.

DING!!

That's what I was thinking. . . . Why copper? Besides availability, brass is better. I've tried copper on various guns before, and have not gotten very good results.

Ahem, Air, before you start ripping on my sights, they are there for cosmetic reasons only... and they work up to like 40-50 feet.

Let me clear that up a bit. That looks cosmetically sha-weet on your awesome crossbow (I think we've all seen pics of that), which is mainly for cosmetics, though I wouldn't mind using it for a war (heh, heh, heh...). It works 40-50 feet assuming you have 10 seconds to aim exactly where you want it to, and by then you'll have been pegged already. Unless you have adapted a chameleon outfit which allows you to have active camo (God forbid).

Posting the fact that you achieved 100 feet with a sm1500 isn't that great of a feat. sm1500 singled correctly (and from what others have said, without copper) should get you farther than that. If not, I see no reason why anybody would single a sm1500, that gets 90 feet multied.

That is all.

Actually I was refering to my at2k... and why the fuck are you visiting this WHILE YOU'RE ON VACATION?! Are you actually paying money on one of those computers in hotels to access this? Because if you are, I'd have to kill you. (Even though I'd do the same thing). Anyways, go to this site; that's some armor I'd like to use during a nerf war ^_^ .
