I'm currently working on a small ball valve gun and I already epoxied the peices together. My gun is primarily made out of cpvc and an 1/2 cpvc ball valve. I was wondering if I would damage the valve if I tried to pry off the little red handle. I want to replace it with a lever so it would be easier to shoot and steady. Is this possible or do I have to hack off the cpvc ball valve and slap on a brass valve with a lever?
Can You Disassemble A Ball Valve?
Can you take off the red handle?

Here's what I did:
I took a 4" section of 1/2" pvc.
I wanted to secure this to the existing red handle, so I marked where the bulge in the red handle would go, and cut that section out of the pvc. Like this:
Then I duct taped both ends of the red handle around the pvc, and now I have a much smoother pull to open the valve.

You can get much further with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone

Hey, that's pretty nifty. I'll have to try that on my next gun. I decided to go with a brass ball valve and it seems to works better. I'm going to do some tests and see how effective my scope is. Thanks anyway Vintage.
