So I just got a BuzzBee Panther I was just wondering how everyone got the orange cap off of it. The perfectionist inside of me doesn't want me to rip it open because it might break and I've heard that it's hard to boil off the glue.

Either cut it along the seam of the blaster's shell, or get a small screwdriver and wedge it under it slowly, going along the edges and prying it off.

If you're going to coupler it then just pry it open, like a book. It will tear at the orange piece. Just cut the shell and add coupler.

Do what Facko is saying. I know for a fact that you cannot pry it off with a screwdriver because there is too much glue. The shell the screwdriver pushes against will give out before the glue does.

What I did was I cut marks with my utility knife where I wanted the shell to break, then pulled it apart like a book. This way I think the shell broke with a cleaner cut, and there was less of a chance of the entire front of the shell cracking, etc.

I cut the cap off with my scrollsaw.
blah blah not everyone has one blah blah.
Either way, cutting it clean off is by far the cleanest and fastest method if you don't care too much about keeping it "stock-like."

I just wedged it open till i could get the internals out and never took off the orange piece, looks stock still with cpvc barrels. Also just slightly widend the orange piece for cpvc to fit.

Holy post count batman!

After watching Baghead mod six or seven of these at the last S.C.U.N. war using the "book" method, its frackin' fool proof man. I think it was new Matt who at the same war tried both prying with a screwdriver and sawing and was unable to open it...untill Bags opened it with his bare hands.

By the way panthers are the new 2ks. Best. Loaners. Ever.
