Usually, you can take spare dart foam and fill in empty space in the shell to dampen it some.

This is for the sharp shot. You can use craft foam, I did this and it works as well as a Nerf dart, just get the plunger and make a few twist on the craft foam and cut those circles out, then next stick them in the plunger and get a screwdriver and flatten it in the plunger so it is flush. If you use like two or more, you may need to glue the craft foam disc together with like super glue or school glue.
This is true, you can pad the plunger. However, the more you pad, the less plunger tube volume you have for air. Less volume CAN mean less range and fps, since the Sharp Shot's internals are so tiny as is.

1. Add craft foam to the plunger tube.
2. Add FBR (Foam backer rod) to the dead space/gaps in the blaster.
3. I've never tried this but, try getting some spray insulation foam and spray that in the dead space.
