Is anyone else getting conflicting messages from these two quotes? Could anyone explain this discrepancy in the Nerf Haven policy?

"Write-ups and plans for DIY Nerf blasters" is not the same thing as "explanation of planned DIY Nerf blaster." You can have a floor plan for a building that is already constructed.

I see no discrepancy. Stop being a smart-ass.

P.s. since you love diction and pedantry, "quotation" is the noun you're looking for while "quote" is the verb you are performing.

You left out the following rule:

DO NOT use obnoxious formatting (colors, bolded text, fonts, large text) unless it is necessary to make your post clear. These tags exist for conveying information and emphasis, not for artistic expression. See the Style Guide for details if you are not sure.

The size tags in your post were unnecessary.

New members frequently post diagrams and ideas for blasters that are unfeasible, or constantly update build logs for projects that may be going nowhere. The rule you quoted addresses that issue.

You are encouraged to post photos of your completed projects in the photos thread. You are welcome to ask specific questions if you get stuck on something and need help, and can't find the answer by searching the site. You may post write-ups and guides for your original designs if you've actually built and tested them. We try to keep the signal-to-noise ratio fairly high here. If that is a problem for you, there are other nerf forums that have looser restrictions.

I suppose there is some discrepancy as to what plans refer to, because to the best of my knowledge plans and concepts are the same thing. Perhaps you should specify that there should be substance/content requirements for concept threads so that only concepts that look like they're going somewhere and deserve attention stay on the board. Then again you can always remove the "plans" part from the board's description. Are the mods offended by my rationality? They shouldn't be.

Thus, the only part left for "plan" to refer to is a completed homemade's blueprint. Really, it seems that your assumption that "plan" and "concept" are absolutely synonymous gives rise to this confusion, and that assumption is wrong.

You're taking a super pedantic approach to an issue that you are imagining and in the process created a nearly-useless thread, and you were warned for breaking rules in the Code Of Conduct (which is annoying), not for the content of the thread.

Edit: The word 'plans' was used because it's a popular google search term for people looking for step-by-step guides. If it's causing you so much confusion, I would be happy to remove it.

Addendum: I suspect your membership here is causing you to suffer from IPS, Irritable Pedantry Syndrome. I am dreadfully sorry for your loss. While treatments for symptoms of IPS are very expensive, we can aid you in eliminating the root cause, that being your membership here.

The confusion has been cleared, repeatedly. There isn't anything more to say. If you're still confused, try re-reading the first few replies, but look for an answer this time instead of an argument. As for your comment about our 'assumptions', you sort of answer your own question right there in your post. If you think that your role here is to call out the moderators for perceived inconsistencies, I can just ban you outright. The only reasons why I haven't already done so is because your contrarian nitpicking has so far been limited to this thread, and I don't want to sabotage the critical mass that's been building in the vast wastelands of Oklahoma.
